My husband attended his interview appointment here for a US travel visa. I am a US citizen and he is a resident of Mexico. We need to travel to the states to assist my family during my mother's upcoming surgery and recovery. The interviewer was incredibly negligent and rude and ignored the supporting documents my husband presented. In the explanation of his visa denial, the interviewer falsely claimed my husband did not show proof of intent to not immigrate. THIS IS UNTRUE.
My husband presented a stack of documents to which the interviewer replied, "what are those?" And did not look at anything. He asked why we did not apply for a spousal (immigrant) visa and my husband told him because we do not wish to immigrate. We live in Mexico and brought proof of our intent to return to our home here, but our documents of proof were completely dismissed.
How is an applicant supposed to show proof of the reason for their visit to the states and intent to return home afterwards, if the official refuses to view the documents? My husband was not even given the chance to speak. After traveling 3 days to attend the appointment, it took less than 10 minutes for a negligent employee to make an impulsive and discriminatory decision. This goes against the Immigration and Nationality Act, which guarantees full consideration under the law. My husband did not receive any consideration whatsoever.
Employees here need more HR and procedural training to learn how to better assist applicants so that everyone receives the same consideration. They are government employees which means they are there to be of service to the people who attend appointments there.
If you have a visa appointment at this consulate, cross your fingers and pray you don't get interviewed by the same guy my husband saw (heavyset man with round glasses, mustache and beard and short hair). Whether or not you receive a visa to travel to the US should NOT be determined by the bad mood, bad work practices, or discriminatory views of...
Read moreBack in the late 90s my parents rented out our Beachhouse (in Rosarito) to this one young , white man and boy did he have an experience worthy of a Hollywood movie plot. Long story short: man went to TJ to go have fun and he was drugged by some chick after a few hours of thinking he was getting somewhere with her. The next day hThis poor man woke up in some rural part near some hills in some run-down house lol! He had no wallet. He walked a for about a day with no food or water back into the city. He tried going to the TJ police for help which ended up being a waste of time. Finally someone recommended he go to the US Consulate for help. The people here were overachievers. They got all the right people involved and sprung into action. High-grade detectives of the police were now involved and within a day they had the chick that drugged him and her handler in custody. He was able to personally go in and identify them at the station. After several weeks he drove up to our house (in California) to give us the rent money and told us the entire story.
I was a young teenager then but that was the first time I had ever heard of how great the US Consulate in TJ was. Ever since that experience I’ve held them in high regard. I only hope I never have to...
Read moreThe officers arrested me for jay walking. Then proceeded to steal my $350 watch, my hero braclet honoring my deceased brother, my $180 Northface backpack, my passport, my wallet, $300 dollars, my VA health care card, my debit card, my drivers license, my belt, my shoe laces, my hygiene bag with my prescription medication for seizures and PTSD, my Apple phone and my Apple iPad. I have never felt with such corrupt law enforcement officers in my life. And they never gave me a yellow slip of paper to retrieve my my items when I was released several hours later. I will be contacting the consulate and any additional agencies to report these officers. Not to mention that this is the second tie that they have stolen my personal items. I am requisition that my items be returned immediately. The items stolen previously were another Apple phone, my shoe laces, my belt and another Hero bracelet. I have contacted the consulate already and was given the number to the police consulate. As soon as I am done with work today I will contact the police consulate as well to file a formal...
