In 1 word Spectacular! I will try to sum up but there are so many nice things to describe ! First of all, the accomodations is in the middle of a natural parc like a beautiful jungle we have seen some animals and the song of the birds just make you dream. The room is not only a room but like a little house in The middle of the jungle with for some view on the sea. The architect who had conceived this place deserves a reward . You are in your little house with privacy With respecting your Intimacy and never manage to see the others guests from your room a DREAM. The rooms decoration and furniture are also well pick up ! The rooms houses are SPECTACULAR! In the same idea, The public parts are well design and you go every morning for your breakfast just in from of the beach and see the color of the water looks like an émeraude gem! I cannot feel bored of this view . The view is SPECTACULAR ! The beach itself is beautiful with white sand and even when it is sargassum season they clean the beach which show the dedication of the staff to make the place really perfect! So if you are looking for an elegant but also small intimated paradise you have find your place ! Be aware that the restaurant at night is japanese food but not any japanese restaurant ! You do not go necessarily to eat Japanese food in Mexico except When you discover that the chef and owner is Japanese. The Food is delicious and really to have sometimes a break with mexican food is SPECTACULAR! The last but not the least, The staff This staff is really nice and be ready to advice you and help you if you need advice for going visiting, eating places or anything you need In our Case, we like our privacy and do not like to ask too much and they respected that also very well! And the advice for going to eat from Betty was amazing . If you meet Betty from reception you will discover a 'belle personne ' as we said in French of 'bella alma' in Spanish. She is really empathic and always present to talk to you exchange opinions, give address and also respect your space. A great thank to Betty but also to all the team Alejandro, Héctor ... A last request if you decide to spend time in POCNA and I am sure it is the best choice ! Remember to give some love and maybe a little bit of food to Cleo the little black female cat of POCNA she is just so sweet and will not bother you ! POCNA means a sweet home like your mum house. I really hope they will manage to preserve this gem as it is ! I can conclude that we have found a home in POCNA I am sure you will find yours !. POCNA SPECTACULAR!

Very honest review. If you’re scrawling down the reviews section: stop here. The place is beautiful however there are some details that might need a little cleanup/work. Quite good location IF (and only if) you have car / if you’re looking for a place to relax, outside the hassle of the main street with bars, restaurants and all. If you won’t have a car during your stay, don’t consider this hotel. Taxis are EXPENSIVE. Bear in mind 2 things: you need to pay a tax at the reserve entrance and there are no supermarkets or stores inside (I think there is a little snack store in another hotel nearby only). You will have to pay the tax again the next day if you want to go out and come back before 6pm. You will be asked to leave ALL the plastic (esp. bottles) at the entrance because of an “environmental” law. However, I still do not understand how you are supposed to feed your baby with no bottled water, since you can’t buy it inside. The law seems to be ineffective as there is waste and trash everywhere on the beach and on the street. The rooms are nice, nothing to say about it. We stayed in a room in front of the beach and it was very practical because we came with our little 9Mo baby. The beach is nice, especially when there aren’t so many guests so you can get to enjoy a little tranquility. Big issue: it isn’t very clean which is completely contradictory with the rules about plastic at the reserve entrance… (look at the bag w/ trash we collected on the picture attached). We did not see a single person from the hotel clean even when they saw trash in front of them. Personnel at the lobby is kind. They explain as much as possible upon arrival so you understand the rules and the place itself. However service at the restaurant is VERY slow. We waited 1 hour to get scrambled eggs and pancakes. The excuse is they have guests that have arrived before you so the wait is “normal”. You may check other comments saying the same… Quality of the food is VERY (insist on the very) average and yet overpriced. They will even ask you to pay for an “optional” tip because not included on the menu prices, even when the breakfast is included on your stay. If you have the option to go elsewhere for lunch and dinner and want to eat something local and nice, do it. The pool looks nice on pictures but it is actually old and I’m guessing they can’t put a REAL one because of the nature around. I don’t know how it’s called, it is a kind of “fabric” pool and it makes the water heat up so you might prefer going to the beach instead, especially during summer. You might want to go out at night to enjoy night life… we did. We came back early, by 11pm and the night guard was sleeping. Did not hear the car hunk, our screams, or knocking on the gate… my boyfriend had to escalate the gate to open because there was no one from the hotel to help even if we tried to call. I do not know if I’m writing the complete experience / point of view but we decided to grant 3 stars because the place is beautiful but there are is a good amount of things that need to be reviewed.

Let me start by saying that please do your research on the purpose of your trip to Tulum, if your main goal is to party and eat at flashy locations stay in the southern area of Tulum beach. Pocna is located in the northern part. For my preference, I rather stay in the northern area due to the prettier beachside and water. It is calmer, no traffic, you can go in and out quickly, with greater spiritual vibes, and best of all for me was to see the stars at night. There's less light pollution so you get to see them perfectly. Rent a scooter or a bicycle to get around, taxis are expensive and its a headache to use them when the road is so narrow for pedestrians, 2-way cars, and bicycles. You can imagine the traffic. Also, Pocna's staff cleans every day and even twice a day the seaweed that lands onshore. This is very important due to Tulum having a seaweed problem. Not all hotels do this, and this definitely makes Pocna stand out. You get to enjoy the beach as the pictures you see online. Now regarding Hotel Pocna, I think it's a great hotel, I stayed in the Maya partial ocean view, and it was amazing! It is very private, you feel at home with the beach less than 1 minute away. You have included breakfast, yes it is very simple, scrambled eggs, toast, juice, and coffee, but for me, it was enough to kick start the day. I do wish they would serve it starting 7am. The hotel has cabanas included if you are a guest, they charge for visitors. They are very comfortable and the shade is great. Next door they have TekioTulum, which is part of Pocna, they have a live Dj from noon to sunset and gives it a cool vibe while you're at the beach. You can also use their property without any fees. In the reception, they were very friendly and gave a great welcome while checking in. The room is very clean, and the housekeeper cleans your room every day. I've read reviews about the water situation being salty, but come on you're at the beach and everyone knows Mexico's waterways are not the best, they leave you pure water to drink and there's a pharmacy nearby that you can buy some water to drink. The reason why I give Pocna 4 stars instead of 5, is due to their menu. As I mentioned before restaurants are pretty far in the southern part of the beach and it's annoying to leave while you are relaxing at the beach to search for appetizing food. Their menu is expensive and the food does not match the price. You can find delicious food for the same price somewhere else. If they would improve their food and variety, this hotel is a 5 star in my book.

Incredible location, just a few sandy steps to the beach - and what a gorgeous stretch of beach! Plenty of loungers, chairs and pillows. There is an issue with sargassum accumulation currently, but PocNa had a tractor to collect the majority of it every few days or so - not every hotel did this, so we were very thankful. Ultimately it did not bother us at all, we're all at the mercy of Mother Nature. When we stayed it was turtle nesting season, so there were nightly patrols of the beach and marked off locations of nests. We were beyond blessed to witness a brand new baby sea turtle make his way into the ocean one night. We visited in early June and stayed for a week. We rented a car so we could have more freedom to come and go as we pleased and the hotel had a small parking lot, so we didn't have to worry about parking. But, we would have been happy to just stick at to PocNa as well without a car. Our room was clean, quiet, cool and the perfect spot for relaxation. They also provided a Nespresso machine in the room so you can start your day with a quick shot of caffeine, which was much needed to get pumped up for your beach bound adventures. We loved being so close to the Tulum ruins (just a 15 minute walk down the beach) and inside of the National Park. The hotel staff were exceptionally welcoming, friendly and beyond helpful. We were celebrating our 20th anniversary and they did everything they could to make our visit special. The breakfast was SPECTACULAR and so filling for your beach filled calorie burning days. We ate there at night and were just as impressed. The restaurant staff was awesome - so nice, so helpful, DELICIOUS drinks. Be sure to try the mescalito - YUM. They also made delicious coffee drinks (latte's, cappuccino's and such). I wish I could remember every person's name and give them specific shout outs, but I think I would need their entire staff directory to be able to do that.

We were able to park here without any problems, which is very hard to find on Tulum Beach . We decided to sit at the bar since we thought we were going to just have the drink special 2 for 1 mezcalitas. We verified when we sat down what the drink special was with the bartender Luis. Our bartender was very friendly and drinks were delicious. We decided to order a Mexican pizza it was small but it was enough for 2 if you wanted a light lunch. We asked a bunch of questions about the beach club because we would want to come back and spend the day on the beach. It’s 500 pesos per person and goes toward consumption. Up until we asked for the check we had a great experience and knew we wanted to come back. We first were told our bill was $1700 pesos. I asked for a detail bill because I knew this couldn’t be right. I knew the pizza was $320 pesos, yes we had 4 mezcalitas which on the beach road are usually around 250 pesos. But they were supposed to be 2 for 1. So, I ask about the price Luis said $1350 he had made a mistake. Again, I ask for a detail bill. Luis then when and ask the manager. I got the detail bill it was still $1100 pesos. Didn’t look right, but I was tired of questioning it. We paid our bill politely, but we will never go back. Be warned this place will try to rip you off if your not familiar with the pricing. It to bad we live in Akumal 6 months of the year and would of been a repeat customer.

Poc Na was the perfect Mexican beach experience! 🌴 The location is right by the beach, all the bungalows have privacy due to the setup at the hotel, the trees are covering the whole area. We were mind blown how great service and experience we got for that price. We loved the bungalow, the Ramos beach restaurant and most of the waiters were so friendly and service oriented. Bring your own big water bottles! They only offer one bottle per day and there are no stores close by. Taxis to go to the center and party area are ridiculously expensive, so I would recommend biking as much as possible. Walking is doable but takes very long. Remember to bring bug sprays, there are lots of bugs since the hotel is in the nature. During hurricane season the hotel was not too full, which was perfect and there was plenty of space everywhere. But we also encountered a huge storm one day, the water came inside the bungalow and the outdoors were floating. Remember that if coming between June and November. Breakfast service was not very efficient and waiters were not always very fast or on top of things. But we were so happy breakfast was included! The prices are high for Mexico but the place is obviously made for tourists.
