We choose a garden room as both soundproofing and blackout was included in the description.
The bad: Unfortunately this is just not true, here is no noise isolation whatsoever, the window is made of one pane and the blackout curtains were holey. Then to make our stay better they started drilling during the day and the drilling was directly above, it reached 90-100 decibels (recording available). The hammering started midmorning, and continued till late afternoon. I had to complain several times to get it to stop. Not once did they apologize. No mention of construction work was made anywhere during booking, otherwise we wouldn't have stayed here. Housekeeping mentioned that there was renovation ongoing, so they clearly knew about it.
The ugly: the window in our room can't be locked. Its a sliding window. So much for security. You might want to check your windows if you check in here, specially if you are in the lower floors.
To top it all the concierge couldn't care less or be bothered: the lady on the phone, judging by her tone, said something rude to me in her language. Fortunately I didn't understand her. I am astonished that anyone gives this place 5 stars, the lack of good service or any kind of consideration is staggering.
The good: lovely public areas, they look much better than the rooms do. There is a coffee machine in the room: you really need it after the...
Read moreReally good location, within walking distance of the Medina, the Kasbah, Tour Hassan etc. The hotel staff were all very nice but not very well trained. We asked about the possibility of getting a tour guide to do a walking tour of the city and we were handed a map, to do our own walk! A woman phoned our room from reception, to see if everything was ok but hung up when she couldn’t understand us! Our room seemed to be only set up for one person, with one glass and one coffee cup (but they did bring us another cup when we mentioned it). Beds are extremely comfortable, and the shower is excellent. The food and drinks we had at the hotel were very expensive (e.g., a local bottle of white wine was 550 MAD here and we got the exact same bottle at another luxury hotel in Salé for 330 MAD), so I would not advise eating here. Nespresso machine in the bedroom was great to have. We bought extra coffee capsules in the nearby Carrefour supermarket. Pool area is very pleasant, but you have to go into the hotel to order a coffee (the French restaurant right beside the pool didn’t offer any service). We asked hotel staff to help us order a taxi to get to the airport when we were leaving; they got us a really old car that started to break down a few minutes away from the hotel (and we had to jump into...
Read moreThe Tour Hassan Hotel is a nice hotel and my second time staying here. The staff is very friendly, especially within the restaurant. Unfortunately my room's air conditioner was not working well. The staff did provide a fan that helped when I was sitting in front of it. Despite being filled to 50% capacity because of COVID, I was not moved to another room after complaining about the air conditioner. The room was adequate, but the size of the bed provided challenges for the desk because there was little space between the two. The bed was firm and comfortable, which provided support for my back. The coffee and water were not restocked daily, but I went to purchase a six pack of liter size bottled water at a local store. I was able to store the water in the small refrigerator. The hotel's location provides access to many shops, restaurants, and the Medina. I would stay here again, but if I was given room 331 I would be hesitant to stay in that room again until confirming the air...
