Yangon Heritage Trust really care about preserving and sharing about the heritage of their city. They have a small office that contains many historic artefacts. They run some fabulous walking tours that can give you excellent insight into part of Yangon you may not see any other way. Noe, our guide, did a great job of showing many historical buildings and explaining their significance to this history of Myanmar and to their importance to modern life in Yangon. The tours are not as cheap as you may find elsewhere, but you are also helping support the trust that is working to preserve so much of Yangon History, and that has to be worth a little extra!

This is a kind of social enterprise or foundation that is trying to preserve the old and historical buildings of Yangon. It was founded by Than Myint U and has many volunteers. YHT offers walking tour in Yangon for Foreigners but I don't know exactly the price. It is not pricy I'm sure. If you have a plan to visit Yangon, I recommend you to join YHT walking tour. You can know how Yangon has passed through the 19th and 20th century. It would be so interesting if you are a lover of historical things. Please see some photos that I took during YHT walking tour.

The tour is highly recommended if you want to know more about the history and cultural dynamics of Yangon. The guide speaks English very fluently and always gave us local point of view which was very previous. After this journey though it was only 2.5 hours, we had a more clear picture about contemporary development of Yangon.
