This brand new coffeeshop in Sloterdijk is my new favourite in Amsterdam.
The store itself is absolutely gorgeous, with gold and white marble adorning the beautiful interior. The staff were ALL extremely friendly, welcoming and knowledgable on every visit and they got to know me by name by the end of my trip, which was a lovely personal touch.
The quality of their products is also up there with the best in the whole of Amsterdam, mixing the old with the modern explosion of different strains. They have a great selection of everything you desire from weed to hash to isolate. They also manufacture their own strains, my favourite being their new Milkshake Kush. This Indica dominant hybrid gives you a heavy body buzz and the flavour is spicy and sweet and reminiscent to fudge. The lineage is AK Choco Kush and Ruderalis. In fact, it is 10% Ruderalis, 10% Sativa and 80% Indica. Let’s just say you won’t be doing much for a little while after consuming this. It is the one MUST try strain if you are ever lucky enough to visit.
Also, their Spacecakes are to die for with 0.3 grams in each one. Myself I ate 1 and was sufficiently buzzed throughout the whole day. However, my girlfriend ate 1/3 as recommended by the staff and even that put her into about a 4 hour whitey. So be forewarned. However, the quality and the taste is up their again with the best in the whole of Amsterdam.
I am planning my next trip back to Amsterdam and have decided I want to stay in a hotel in Sloterdijk instead of Centraal, just so I have more opportunities to visit this...
Read moreWe were a group of 4 girls who had just arrived from the train station and decided to visit this coffeeshop. Big mistake. The staff gave us an extremely rude and unwelcoming reception. Two of us walked to the counter to talk to the seller while the other two stayed behind — and even though the shop has a big aisle with plenty of space for others to move around, the woman behind the counter told our friends to move all the way to the back of the shop because they were “blocking the way”. Our friends complied without arguing, but then another man working there, who had witnessed the whole thing, decided to add: “If you’re not buying, go wait outside.” Our friends left without making a scene, but we were already uncomfortable. Trying to stay polite, my friend and I quickly placed our orders. After getting my stuff, I thought I’d take a picture of the decor because it looked nice — when the staff immediately told me no pictures, which is fine — but then the same rude guy added sarcastically: “YES, WE ARE NOT IN THE ZOO.” We were absolutely shocked. I told him he could have said it more politely, and he just rolled his eyes at me and started talking to the next customer like I didn’t even exist. We left the coffeeshop disgusted and disappointed by the horrible attitude of the staff. On top of that, after trying their products, they weren’t even that good or effective. Stay away from this place. Plenty of better coffeeshops in Amsterdam where they actually respect...
Read moreSecurity guard with the bowler hat was a prick. I was denied entrance because I climbed over the wall next to the only entrance I could find. To begin with, the entrance looks like it's made for cars. I walked to the side of the building, and there were no doors. I found the entrance, but there was a small wall in the way. I decided it was faster to make the small hop over the wall to go to the door. I did so after making sure there were no signs forbidding so. As soon as I made my safe jump, I was stopped by a bearded gentleman at the door that was anything but gentle. "You cannot come in here after that. There are cameras." I told him there are no doors accessible from the street side of the building. There are no signs that say you can't go over the small wall by the entrance. I kindly said thank you and went on my way. If you don't want my money, I'll take it somewhere else. All I would recommend to the business in order to not lose further future customers is to post a simple sign that says "no service if you climb the wall at the entrance." Heck, it can even be as simple as a sign that says "no climbing" with a nice iconograph depicting so. I expect this is just the policy of the store, but how would I know without proper signage? If it's not store policy, then the dapper guard is an imbecile and I wish they can better their attitude for the...
