I found this hotel to be pretty great. The location is easy to get to with Sloterdijk station being a 5 minute walk away. The only problem I found with this was that there was no direct train or quick metro directly to Centraal station included with the GVB card we purchased. Obviously this was an oversight on our part because we hadn't looked too much in to the travel situation. There is a direct metro that takes about 30 minutes or a direct bus that takes about 25 minutes. Don't let that put you off staying here though. The check in staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing seemed too much. We found the rooms to be ample in size and had everything we needed. In our room the toilet and bathroom were separate and the toilet only had cold water. The sink in the bathroom was a little clogged and the water took a while to drain. Also, the lights next to the bed had no bulbs. I did like the fact that the lights that were working in the room were not pointing directly down from the ceiling. This meant that when waking up and putting the lights on you were not blinded. The breakfast was really good. They have an assortment of pastries, mini muffins, cold meats, cheeses, fruit, cereal, juices and hot drinks. For hot food they had bacon, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, potatoes, little pancakes and toast. Whilst the hotel offers tea and coffee in your room they also keep the hot drinks machines on all day for you to help yourself. I found the coffee to be terrible but alot of people seemed to enjoy it. For what this hotel offers for the price I would definitely recommend it.

**Awful and Anxious Experience at This Hotel** We booked through their official website, hoping for a smooth experience, but it turned out to be worse than expected. The front desk staff's professionalism was shocking. they can evict customers who have already checked in. One particularly rude staff member refused to communicate and was outright dismissive. He even shouted at me to call for help because he believed a young woman was powerless to argue with him. He refused to answer questions, making the check-in process exhausting and ruining my entire trip. When there was a billing issue, instead of explaining it to me, they tried to push me out with cash that was not the amount I was due, as if it were charity. The hotel's management seems very disorganized, with poor internal communication—it's unclear who is actually in charge. The General Manager seemed helpful, but her staff claimed her words didn't matter. I am genuinely concerned that this aggressive attitude could pose a safety risk to guests. After I left, I overheard one staff member verbally threatening another, which was very frightening and made us afraid to leave our luggage at the hotel. The location is about a 7-minute walk from the train station, which isn't very convenient if you're carrying luggage, although it's relatively close to the airport. The room is smaller than the picture. Avoid this hotel if you want a stress-free stay.

Stayed here for a week, had a lovely time! The staff were all brilliant, very kind and patient. Definitely recommend getting the breakfast, best buffet I have ever had. (See photo) The rooms were quite clean and well made up. We were on the top floor in a king sized suite. There were USB plugs as well as EU ones, so I didn't ever have to use my adapter plug. Shampoo and conditioner were provided, which was good, as we had only packed small containers of shampoo. The location is perfect! The train station is only a short walk away, and next to it is a Spar where we got breakfast each morning, and snacks each evening. It's only one stop away from the centre, so we would walk down when we felt like it, and hop on the next train. There is a vending machine in the lobby, with a decent variety of snacks and drinks for midnight snacking. I only had 2 negatives, and they were both VERY mild: we weren't provided with a remote for the TV, and when I went to ask for one, the replacement didn't work, but that gave me more motivation to finish my book! Also, our room was next to the lift, so we did hear a lot of mechanical noise in the evening, but it was like listening to white noise really and didn't bother us once we figured out what it was.

Stayed here for four nights this week. The room itself was really lovely and generally very clean and well kept. The bathroom was lovely and the bed comfy. The complimentary drinks were lacking with only one Tea,Sugar,Creamer being provided, meaning we had to constantly ask reception for more tea as we’d only ever be handed one of each despite asking for more. That wasn’t too bothersome though and we enjoyed our first night there. Where they really lose their credit is the lack of allergen awareness this hotel has. We paid for breakfast with our room for the entirety of our stay. My parent has severe nut allergies and we mentioned these allergens to the reception staff when asking about breakfast and they didn’t have much of an idea on how to help us asides from telling us to discuss it with the breakfast staff. We were fairly satisfied with this answer and the reception wouldn’t be too involved in breakfast. However the breakfast staff were not helpful in the slightest. There was no allergen menu that could be provided as they didn’t have one at all. The breakfast staff had little awareness of allergies and just said ‘you can eat this thing because look there’s no nuts’ lacking awareness of cross contamination. Cross contamination was a major problem with nut containing bread being stored directly next to bread that doesn’t contain any nuts meaning despite the bread being nut free my partner couldn’t have it due to where it’s stored. Additionally the utensils used to pick up breakfast items were not kept separate per food item and so people would be using whichever tool they decided meaning the tool would allow for cross contamination. Unlike other hotels we have stayed in these utensils were not kept separate. Only one cereal was allergen free and we had to try very hard in order to obtain a box of the cereal so we could assess the allergens. Other than that the only other safe food available was an apple. Considering we had prepaid for bed and breakfast service the huge lack of care and awareness of allergens which wasn’t expected from an establishment like this was hugely disappointing and most definitely a waste...

Don't stay here.

We stayed 12 nights at this hotel from 22 July - 4 August 2022.

Day 1: We entered our room and there was quite a bit of hair on the sheet, the little pillows that are on bed for decor were dirty, the floors not cleaned properly. We told reception, changed rooms next day.

Day 2: New room also not cleaned properly, window not possible to open (rude Sebastian at reception told us "it wouldn’t be normal to be able to open windows in hotels”). We insisted in getting a room where we can open the window. We changed rooms again after one night staying in this one.

Day 3: New room, there is gum on sheet, hair on bed, dirty little pillows, blowdryer missing. Room service was ordered, bed made up (but not fresh bedding as requested) and fresh towels but not fresh cups (dirty ones were left as they were on side table, floors not cleaned etc.

Day 4: We asked for full room service (incl. sheet change because of gum still, washed cups) - plus maintenance as water is blocked in sink. Again, room not properly cleaned again.

So we gave up. Staying here for 12 nights and leaving 2500Euros at your hotel, we are shocked. The Urban Lodge Hotel is not a 4 star hotel. The rooms in general need maintenance, the dirty walls need cleaning, most rooms have broken off hooks so you can’t hang your towels at all, the curtains have holes… It seems like no money is spend on maintaining this hotel. Also the display of breakfast and options are not 4 star either. The atmosphere is this if a rather cheap youth hostels.

We had much (!!) better experiences at Amsterdam’s Conscious Hotel and Hotel Arena only a few weeks prior, so this was truly disappointing.

I hope you get your ducks in a row as this is a...

Terrible! If I could, I would give it -5 stars. We arrived at the hotel around 11pm on 05/21. Right when we entered the room, we saw coffee spills on the side of the bed and coffee stain on the cup. I went shower and noticed pee stain on the toilet seat. It was terrible, but since we were tired and it was late, we decided to deal with it. Right when I was going to bed, I saw SILVERFISHES on the floor (if you don’t know what it is, it’s a bug that EATS clothes). After that, I was done!!! I really wished I could check out at that moment, but we called dozens of hotels and all of them were already booked for the night. I went to the reception to try to get a new room and I was told that there wasn’t any available and that all they could do was bug spray the room. We ended up going to sleep around 3AM or later because of all the issues and the headache the bug spray gave us. 7AM the next morning, first thing I did was look for the manager (which wasn’t available the night before), I was told he was not there and they advised me to send an e-mail explaining everything and sending the pictures I took in order to try to get to a resolution, a refund since I didn’t stay (I checked out around 8AM of 05/22, and my reservation was from 05/21 to 05/24). Today is 05/24 and I still haven’t heard from them. I already called several times, no lucky.. every time a new excuse! I will contact my credit card and request a back charge. Other than the issues above, the linen sheets and floor were really dirty and there was a blood-like stain on another linen sheet. I advise everybody to NOT book with this hotel. It’s dirty! Terrible customer service! Far...
