Even by Dutch standards, this was a terrible experience. The star is for the coleslaw, which was pretty good, but the rest of the experience having lunch here on a Friday was unpleasant to say the least. They must have only had one person in the kitchen, because it was not too busy, but 30 minutes after ordering we were looking around and seeing people that were there before us still without their food. After 45 minutes we finally had our food. I got the bacon burger and dug into the coleslaw and fries. Then it was time for the burger. I took some bites and it was quite tasty. But then I noticed it a bit red in the middle. Seemed rare, which I don't usually eat, but we waited to so long and I had to get back to work so I didn't want to send it back. But I took a few more bites around the edge, then from the other side, and that's where it was just flat out raw. As much as I didn't want to wait for them to cook another burger I also don't want food poisoning. So I went to the bar and told them it was raw in the middle. They said that since I took too many bites of it they had to make me a new one. I said OK as long as it's here in 5 minutes because I have to go back to work. But I had to get back in line and wait all over again. I said I couldn't do that and needed to go. They brought the bill and when I went to pay I told them that I shouldn't have to pay for a raw burger I didn't eat. They said I "ate a lot of it." Yes, I had multiple bites before I decided it was too raw to continue. But 2/3 of it was there. I said this burger should have never been served like this and there is no way they should charge me for it. But alas, this is the Netherlands. You order it, you pay for it, no matter how much you screw up. I said I would write a review of my experience and never return and tell my entire office never to return there. It's a damn shame because it could have been a good experience. That coleslaw was the best I'd had in...

Start with sitting at the table without any one coming with the menu. After 5 min went to find a waitress, one of them saw me but turned her back and ignored, while the next one told me to sit down and she will come with it.

I ordered nachos with only guacamola and salsa as it says on the menu, but they were keep adding things, either it was cheese or sour cream. Complaint to the waitress and told her I do not eat cheese. Also it did not says on the menu. Had to tell her that I were allergic before she actually want to take back and make a new. I react on her rude attitude and behaviour. Did not even apologize for their mistakes and charge extra when asking for more sauce since they put on really little. Spoke to the manager and he was not customer friendly as well. Will never go back here and do not recommend any one to go here, especially because of the poor and bad customer service experience.

The owner is replying about treating his staff bad, well, then he should look at the video camera who treat who bad since his staff was already rude from the beginning even you were asking for changing politely. Also look at other reviews about rude staff and you will know who is lying. But it says everything when treating a customer where you do not trust what they are telling from the beginning. If you ask the customer sitting next to me, you will know for sure what happened and he heard everything that was going on. You do not charge the customer anything extra when you are doing a mistakes and not even admit it!!!! And you do not stand there and arguing with a customer about 2.50 eur extra for sauce that was suppose to be included when ordering a bunch of nachos for 7.50 eur!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT!!! Overprices and bad.

If I could give a minus score, I would...

I went here back in Apr. 2024. I recall the food being fantastic (I only can seem to find the picture of my appetizer, so I've forgotten what I got for my entrée). The staff member that seated me and took my order was very nice, but he took a really, really long time to take my order.

I was one of a couple of people who came in alone, so I do believe we were lower priority (which I'm not upset about, I get it). Wissenkerke was also quite busy, which didn't help. EDIT: I'm going to trust the restaurant's word in their response. It was just a very busy day. Still, I do remember waiting around 25 minutes to have my order taken.

Was it worth the wait? Definitely. The food was really, really good, and even then, it was nice to passively people-watch. The vibes were very good in the restaurant. Groups of friends at the bar, couples on dates in the dining area, a big family sat down for some celebratory meal behind me.

Mijn Nederlands is niet echt goed, maar ik snap het als mensen blij zijn. Mensen waren hier blij.

Thank you for the first dinner I've ever had outside of my home country, Wissenkerke. I thoroughly enjoyed it. 💜 Someday, when I'm in Amsterdam again, I'll be sure to...

I was staying at the Teleport otel (another story) they recommend watts, but their reviews are not good, so I walked a bit further and came across this gem. I couldn't see anyone, at first, but then the manager(owner) appeared, I sat outside and ordered a lager. After a couple, it was time to eat, a very filling Ceaser salad, followed by an amazing seafood platter, the Chef's special. Even though there was a large party in, service was excellent, next time I'm cycling round The Netherlands, I'll make sure to pop in.

A local recommended that I visit the Wissenkerke specifically for their burgers and it was certainly worth it. The service was friendly and helpful. There’s a good variety available on the menu but of course the burgers are the BEST! Indoor and outdoor seating are available, with bathrooms on site, also bar with high chairs. Really liked the fact that it’s outside Amsterdam Centraal to just escape the craziness for a few seconds.
