Dear Holland2Stay Customer Service,
I am writing this review to complain about a series of events and issues that have occurred in connection with my tenancy at the Victoriapark building. The handling of these matters by your staff and the lack of prompt and effective resolution have left me deeply dissatisfied and frustrated.
Six months ago, I experienced a flooding incident in the basement of the Victoriapark building, specifically in my designated storage room. I promptly reported the issue to the reception, and despite assurances that the matter would be addressed, the damage to my personal belongings exceeded 1000 Euros. The lack of immediate action and the dismissive response from the receptionist only exacerbated the situation.
When I attempted to discuss the matter further, I was met with the assertion that it was my responsibility to ensure the safety of my belongings, despite the room being explicitly labeled as a "DEPOSIT ROOM." The building manager suggested contacting the insurance company for compensation, leaving me with the financial burden of damages caused by a building-related issue.
Although the flooding issue was eventually resolved, the subsequent work by the plumbing company resulted in further damage to my belongings. The lack of communication and notification regarding the work being conducted in my storage room, coupled with the negligent actions of the workers, reflects poorly on the management and responsibility of Holland2Stay.
I lodged a complaint at the reception, expecting a resolution. However, the response I received was unsatisfactory, with the blame being shifted to external parties and a promise to follow up, which never materialized. Two months passed without any communication or resolution.
Recently, another flooding incident occurred, and the lack of responsiveness and accountability was evident once again. The excuse provided by the reception, initially attributing it to rain, was proven false when I discovered that the issue stemmed from a broken pipe above my storage room. The ongoing negligence in addressing the water drainage problem has resulted in repeated flooding, causing additional damages amounting to 2500 Euros.
Furthermore, my attempts to communicate the issues with homeless individuals in the basement were met with indifference. This, along with the continuous recurrence of flooding incidents, contributes to a living environment that is not only inconvenient but also poses a threat to the safety and well-being of the tenants.
I am deeply dissatisfied with the lack of prompt action, accountability, and communication exhibited by Holland2Stay throughout these incidents. As a tenant, I expect a higher level of service, responsibility, and urgency in addressing issues that impact my living conditions.
I am still awaiting the promised call from the building manager, and I request an immediate and comprehensive resolution to the issues raised in this letter. Additionally, I expect compensation for the damages incurred due to the repeated flooding incidents and the negligence of the plumbing company hired by Holland2Stay. Also, the excuse for not calling you is an answer by email that says:" I was trying to reach out to you through a phone, but both numbers are invalid. Could you please update them and inform us what is a good tike to call you?". This is the response I got back from them after I went to the reception and I explicitly wanted them to write down my phone number, because it's the 3rd time I receive this "excuse email".
Enclosed, please find pictures documenting the damages and incidents mentioned in this letter for...
Read moreVictoriapark Lighting is situated at 5 minutes from the station. There's a beautiful Jumbo supermarket within the building and the apartments come fully furnished. Service is often a bit clunky, but eventually always comes through. All in all Victoriapark could have been an amazing place to live, but unfortunately this is not the case. Here's why:
Victoriapark = greenhouse: During summer, the entire building becomes one giant greenhouse. The outside is all windows and the sunblinds are thin and very dark grey. The apartments are also poorly ventilated. The only vent hole is about the size of a doughnut which isn't even close to sufficient for a 180-200 cubic meter apartment. The hole also clogs up with dust very fast and it's difficult to clean. Leaving the window open during the evening will result in tons of bugs inside your apartment. Leaving the window open at night will result in 0 sleep as it is very noisy outside, especially during weekends. Last year many tenants temporarily vacated their apartments and stayed in hotels or at friends/family to escape the heat. From July through August 2018, my apartment averaged at 37 degrees (Celsius) during the day and maybe 35 during the night.
Cheap furnishing: The bed looks OK, but the mattress is terrible. My back started hurting so much that I was forced to buy a proper mattress. If you have a history of back pain, don't even consider moving to Victoriapark without bringing your own mattress. The dining table, chairs, couch, lamp, coffee table, TV cabinet and closet are all of the cheapest kinds from Ikea. This isn't necessarily bad, but it doesn't make up for anything either.
Kitchen equipment: The stove is of the electric hot plate type which heats up very slowly and takes forever to cool down. The glass oven plate and wheels that make the food spin are not resistant to high temperatures.
Thin walls: The walls between the apartments are very thin. You'll clearly hear your neighbours talking if they're at home and listening music or watching TV at night is often met with complaints.
Very expensive: Unless you get housing allowance, Victoriapark Lighting isn't worth the money. From July 2019, monthly rent goes up to about 940 euro's a month (varies somewhat depending on your apartment size). Of course you have to consider the awesome location, but considering all the downsides, I wouldn't recommend anyone...
Read moreI wanted to drop you a message about some pretty frustrating stuff that's been happening with my place at the Victoriapark building. The way things have been handled and the lack of quick fixes have left me pretty annoyed.
About six months back, there was a flood in the basement, right in my storage room. I reported it ASAP, but despite assurances, my stuff got damaged to the tune of over 1200 Euros. The receptionist's response was kinda dismissive, making the whole situation worse.
When I tried talking about it, they hit me with the line that it was my responsibility to protect my stuff, even though the room is literally called a "DEPOSIT ROOM." The building manager told me to contact the insurance company for compensation, putting the financial burden on me for damages caused by a building issue.
They eventually fixed the flooding issue, but then the plumbing company they hired messed up my belongings during their work. No heads up, no communication about what was happening in my storage room – it's pretty frustrating and reflects poorly on how things are managed.
I complained at the reception, hoping for a solution, but the response was disappointing. They blamed external parties and promised to follow up, but that never happened. Two months passed without any word.
Recently, there was another flood, and the lack of responsiveness and accountability was evident once again. They first said it was due to rain, but turns out it was from a broken pipe above my storage room. The ongoing negligence in fixing the water drainage problem has led to more flooding, causing extra damages totaling 2000 Euros.
I also tried talking to them about homeless people in the basement, but it seemed like they didn't really care. With all these flooding incidents, it's not just inconvenient; it's becoming a safety issue for everyone living here.
I'm really not happy with how slow and unresponsive Holland2Stay has been in handling these problems. As a tenant, I expect a bit more care and urgency in dealing with issues that seriously affect my living conditions.
I'm still waiting for that call from the building manager, and I really hope we can get things sorted out ASAP. Plus, I think some compensation for all the damages caused by the repeated flooding and the mistakes of their plumbing company...
