Grand Café de Lichttoren — Restaurant in Eindhoven

Food took forever to arrive even though we were the first ones to be there. We couldn’t choose to have something different to eat if one of us wanted the three courses menu so eventually we all ordered the same and all got the wrong first meal that was specified on the menu. Portions felt small and the food was also very inconsistent in quality, we all had the same steak and my sister’s was red and moist while mine was fully baked while they also didn’t ask how we wanted our stakes. Waiters took questions they never answered. We got billed double (400 euro instead of the 200 we had to pay). The double espresso was a little above room temperature so I guess they did not pre heat the cups. The desert cake was nice though so i guess they have that going for them.

I ate here a year ago and it also was not good yet expensive. The waiters were very unprofessional back then, that was mildly improved this time but I am never going back here and I would actively advice people against it.

Visited this place for dinner with friends on 28/08. The staff is lovely and they are attentive. The cocktail I had was quite nice too. It was not very busy but there were one or two big groups there. I ordered the grilled Tuna and my friends got a vegan burger and pasta. Out of the three plates only the pasta was warm. My fish though seasoned nicely was cold, not even a little bit warm. Same with the burger. The fries were hot and the pasta warm. We assume that the two plates of food probably cooled down while the pasta and the accompanying potatoes were being cooked. In which case, I don’t know why they weren’t kept warm while waiting. It is a pity because I was really looking forward to my food. What could have been a 10/10 experience was...

Visited this restaurant for a friend’s birthday dinner , and it was a pleasant experience overall. The food was of good quality, particularly the burgers which were delicious and had a nice texture. While it wasn't the most extraordinary cuisine I've ever had, it was satisfying and well-prepared.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. When we asked them to sing for my friend's birthday, they enthusiastically joined in and made the moment special, which was a lovely touch.

However, the atmosphere can be a bit chaotic, especially if there's a large group of people dining. The noise level can get quite high, making it a bit challenging to have a quiet conversation. Despite this, the overall vibe was lively and energetic, which some might...
