Van Dam Bike Rental at Keukenhof is a brilliant idea, but with incredibly poor customer service. In short, they just don't care. As of April 15th, 2019, their OWN WEBSITE lists an address to rent your bike of Stationsweg 166A 2161 AM Lisse They have an entire page devoted to 'LOCATE'. This is NOT their address. This is 1 mile from their true address, which is Westelijke Randweg, 2163 GA Lisse I spent hours looking for their bikes due to their incompetence. I am not sure why I am helping them here to correct their incorrect address. Beyond that, their signage for bike paths is a joke. They tell you that 'You can't miss the signs', but those signs are intermittent at best and not posted at corners. You spend a lot of time checking GPS and asking fellow riders. This place has so much potential. What could be better than a bike rental in tulip fields?!?!?! Van Dam Bicycle has managed to ruin it. They don't even care enough to post the correct address on...
Read moreAs a professional photographer in the Netherlands, I've repeatedly rented bikes from this company for my tulip fields photoshoots and bike tours, and I can confidently say that they consistently deliver an exceptional experience at a reasonable price. Their shop is conveniently located just beside the Keukenhof Gardens, making it easy to find. Their customer service is always top-notch, and they efficiently handle bike rentals. Furthermore, their bikes are impeccably maintained, ensuring an enjoyable biking experience for both my clients and myself. Rent-a-Bike van Dam is also a perfect choice for families exploring the beautiful Dutch countryside. With their wide selection of bikes, including those for kids, child seats, and even cargo bikes, they make it easy and enjoyable for all ages to experience the joys of cycling. I'm excited to rent the bikes again with them this tulip season. Thank you so much! Highly...
Read moreExtremely friendly and helpful staff, who were accommodating to a less-confident rider. If you’re not used to the type of bikes in the Netherlands (namely the handlebars curving towards you), it can take a bit of time to get used to them, but in the end it becomes natural, and comes to you like riding a bike. It was a great way to explore the local area and the private tulip fields, which at the time of our visit (first week of April) were more colourful and in bloom than Keukenhof’s, due to it being early in the tulip season. We did a 15km route, which took around 2 hours with multiple stops and at a reasonable pace – be aware that if it’s windy, cycling along the the dams can be like going into a wall and hardwork! Expect your legs to ache a bit the next day if cycling isn’t something you do regularly, but it’s definitely worth it for...
