Centre Céramique — Attraction in Maastricht

This is the loudest library (if you can even call it one) I have ever been in my life. They currently have a kids exhibit on the ground floor which brings in many children and babies who play loudly through the afternoon. I don't blame the kids, but the open set up of the library, which means any noise anywhere in the building can be heard in every corner. Because of that, even when the children are not the problem, you can hear the noises from the cafe (conversations, blenders, cutlery and plates), from the staff loudly talking and walking around, or some unnecessarily loud classical music playing. If only they'd have ONE quiet area... All in all, it is impossible to enjoy a book or get any...

Pretty nice place. Staff was nice. The majority of the downstairs exhibit was not in English but the upstairs is completely translated. Both exhibits were nothing earth shattering or out of this world but if you're in the area with time to kill, it's free so check it out. But I was happy I didnt have to pay for it. If you're super into pottery or ceramics, you'd probably love it. I think they have a nice library if you live in town though. Don't bother going to the coffee place inside, it's super overpriced (3,50 for a cup of coffee). Go across the way, I forgot the name of it but they also sell sandwiches,...

Eifel-Maastricht-Connection 🏴‍☠️ Episode 3 - Kultur Nach 4 Tagen "Kurzreise" bin ich wieder am heimischen PC und NEIN...ich war nicht so lange in Maastricht 😄 Die Seeimpressionen der letzten Tage folgen dann in ca. 2 Wochen. Mitte April der dritte sehr spontane Ausflug alleine nach Maastricht. Karfreitag...in den Niederlanden ein ganz normaler Werktag. In der Kirche am Altar dennoch im Geiste dem besonderen Anlass gedacht und einen Cappuccino dankbar genossen, wo früher einmal Wein getrunken wurde. Diesmal ganz bewusst sofort zum Tourist-Office und mir direkt einen Stadtplan geholt und systematisch meinen "Radius" vergrößert und hat sich total gelohnt 😍 Wie vermutet, nach jetzt 3 Besuchen, kenne ich mich im Altstadt-Bereich gut aus, jetzt kam der äußere Ring dran. Unglaublich toll entlang der alten Stadtmauer. Auf dem Uni-Campus (Ex-Kaserne) ein Restaurant, was im alten Stil Retro-Style eingerichtet ist. So habe ich noch nie diniert 🤩 Sinnvolle Nutzung von Konversionsflächen, vorbildlich. Nächster kultureller Premium-Fund war dann direkt neben meinem Parkhaus (östliche Seite der Stadt), das Keramik-Museum. Ich dachte mir: "Geh mal rein...paar Sekunden Keramik geht schon..."....Pustekuchen. Ab Etage 2 beginnt eine Mischung aus Uni-Bibliothek und Museum, mit einem Ausblick, wie man ihn in Maastricht vermutlich selten findet. "Lern-Lounges" überall... Was für eine geniale Uni-Stadt (war selber in Aachen, aber würde mich jetzt 5x mehr für Maastricht entscheiden).🤩 Die Blicke der stöhnend lernenden Studenten, wie da ich in kurzer Hose mit der Kamera fröhlich gechillt durch die Gegend knipse. Da ist man doch mal froh, nicht mehr jung zu sein 😁🤣 Nächstes Album kommt der Natur-Part der Parks 🙂 Gruß aus der wilden Eifel - Besucht gerne...
