Last Wednesday, I enjoyed an unforgettable lunch at Cafe Zuid Restaurant, and I’m already planning my next visit! For starters, their Ginger Ale with Lemon and Mint was the perfect refreshing kick—crisp, zesty, and bursting with fresh herbs. But the star of the show? The Kip Pasteijte (Chicken Vol-au-Vent)! This Dutch classic was an absolute delight: flaky, buttery pastry filled with tender chicken and earthy champignons in a creamy sauce, paired with a light, vibrant salad. UPDATE AFTER 2 YEARS!

Unfortunately, I am updating my review after two years. I have been visiting Café Zuid for over 4 years and I regret to say that the quality of the service has declined dramatically. Two years ago I wrote that the staff were very attentive and professional. Unfortunately, in my view this is nowadays an exception rather than the norm. The prices have gone up but most of this is due to the inflation so no problem. For studying Zuid is only suitable during daytime and not in the evenings. Certainly not on the weekends. Even if you want to dine, I find it hard to recommend café Zuid anymore. If service is important to you, I suggest you try another cafe-restaurant.

We were there two days in a row The reason for that on the first day, only I ate, my friends had already eaten, but when I got my food they regretted it and wanted to come back the next day, I had the Asian ribs. So tender and full of flavour, the only thing that didn't quite fit in was the coleslaw, it was a little tasteless against the other flavours. The day after we wanted to try the fish and meat dish of the day. The fish already gone, so we decided to try the lamb, but that wasn't any success, it was chewy and the potatoes in the salad was extremely undercooked.
