Great views, i came on a quiet week day because every time iv tried to go there isnt a car park at all even close by and the entrance is a bit confusing. Step hill and steps so not fatty cripple friendly 🤣🙋‍♀️ The original station was damaged by a series of earthquakes and aftershocks in 2010 and 2011, and finally collapsed in 13th June 2011 after a magnitude 6.4 aftershock. Fundraising rebuild project got underway in July 2017 then reopened 2 November 2018. Lots of several information books and boards to read about the history of the site. One seat and...

An incredible piece of history for such a young country NZ is. So very important that this was restored after the tragic 2011 earthquakes that took place Christchurch wide. Well worth the visit and the great views. Lots of activity to see with the harbour below. We worth the drive up and over the saddle hill road that brings you up and over the hill to the village of Sumner. Grab yourself a treat with a...

Site was damaged by the earthquake but had been wonderfully restored with plenty of information placards about the history of the site.

But for this one, honestly it’s the view which is worth the hike up the mountain...

Well looked after reminder of the days of sail and the importance of timekeeping to ships before the advent of modern technology. Finding this site can be a little challenging and the roads leading here are narrow and parking spaces pretty scarce. Nevertheless the timeball tower and the surrounding gardens are worth it
