The Lyttelton Harbour Information Centre — Attraction in Banks Peninsula Community

My wife and I went here to get some ideas of things to do with our kids and all we got was frustrated. The old lady working in there didn't know anything about the surrounding area. We were thinking of going over to the island that's right there so we asked about it, she couldn't even tell us times of the Fairy went over there. They were on a poster that was hanging up in the place. We asked about hikes and she was no help there either. Lyttelton Markets- Fabulous way to spend a Saturday morning, just a short drive through the tunnel. It pays to get there early to grab a park- although it's a pleasure to walk from further away with such a gorgeous view. A variety of produce and other treats on offer, with a few other stalls selling gifts etc. The music is great in the centre of the street, and buskers often set up down near the totem poles.
