Having the pleasure of visiting this establishment in Lyttelton for the first time, I am delighted to have discovered such a wonderful place! 😊🎉🎈 It was my mother's birthday, and the staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and consistently cheerful. 🎂 Although the food service was a bit slow due to the high volume of customers, the dishes were absolutely delicious and reasonably priced 😋👍 The establishment was well-organized 💯👏 Upon settling the bill, we interacted with the staff, who offered their apologies, but we assured them that it was understandable given how busy they were 😊 They were working diligently 💪 I certainly plan to return. Thank you all😊

- Lyttelton lager 6.5/10 I'm not an IPA person. However, I'm a lager person. After trying it, I'll stick to my traditional lagers. - Oxford Street pizza 6.8/10 It's OK, base broke away quite easy. Cherry tomatoes was a nice touch, little spots of Buffalo mozzarella and parmesan, mostly your basic easy cheese. However, if you're drinking, this should bother you. - Corsair bay pizza 6.7/10 Similar to the Oxford Street review, basic base. Good sized olives and pesto swirl is ok. Workers are friendly and great to talk to, if you're into IPA you'll definitely love this.

Possibly the worst experience we've ever had. We got a platter for four to share to start. $56 and its half a loaf of dollar bread. Shortly after it arrived our mains came. I've never had as much water drip from a burger in my life. Bun soaking! Apparently the chef likes it that way... We won't be back for $1 toast, and soaking wet burgers. And hi to the manager in the purple shirt who didn't have the courage to come say hi, instead sending a lovely woman who was exceptional at her job.

Came for a new years drink with my sister, we’re early 30s. Was greeted by the girl on the bar who said the place wall full upstairs. So we got a drink and sat out on the front walkway. Once we got the table, I got my sister to grab a drink and ask to have our table cleared. She was told by the lady at the front bar to “clear it herself” and handed her a dirty rag, but not before spraying it and said “you can put the dishes on the side”.

I have never been to a bar or restaurant or cafe or any hospitality venue, where I’ve had to clean the table myself.

We then asked if we could order some food, and she had responded that the kitchen was closed for 30 mins as it was super busy. So we sat with our drink and self-cleared table out front. Just out of curiosity, my sister (who is out from Maastricht and I’ve wanted to show a good time to) went upstairs to see if there may be a table available. There were plenty. And by plenty I mean over half of the two upstairs levels were free. At this point we’d only been here for 10 mins after being told it was “fully booked and no available seating”. I get it, who wants to work on new years. But hey, you’re open?

Everyone was ordering food, receiving food and everything seemed like a normal Eruption Brewery day in the office? I’ve been here many times before and have never had such rudeness from a hospitality staff member. I’m guttered because my sister is only here for a day, I get it’s the 2nd of Jan 2025…. But it really wasn’t “jam packed, crazy chaos”, as we were told by the lady at the front of the bar. Won’t be back anytime soon. Sorry.

Beer is always great...

My partner and I came here for dinner at 5:30 one Wednesday evening and we felt like the staff completely ignored us the whole time we were there. We had a booking and when we arrived we were told to take a seat upstairs and someone will take our order. We watched as the waitress would walk past us and take orders from people who arrived after we got there multiple times. The first few times we just thought she hadn't noticed us waiting but then it felt like she was purposely ignoring us. We even waved out to her at one point which was also ignored. This went on for about 40 minutes so we decided to leave and go to dinner elsewhere. Even when we were leaving we had to pay for our two drinks at the bar and the bartender didn't even seem phased that we were leaving without having any dinner. Pretty disappointing as it was our first experience here. Would not come back, not even for...

I’d like to share my story, in the afternoon on 21 March, 2025, when I was enjoying my cruise around New Zealand and part of Australia, I visited the beautiful bar of ERUPTION BREWING, I ordered three cups of craft beer, after enjoying outside and inside of bar, I went the toilet and then I left my small bag in the MALE. After I found I lost my bag that night, my ship had moved to another city. I had a phone call to the bar next day, the staff who served my craft beer said he kept my bag after confirmed the color of the bag with a small compass attached. He sent my bag next day to my home, Tokyo, Japan. After two-week-cruise, I received my bag. The staff didn’t take my tip, my family and I moved from heart for staff’s great help to return my bag. I strongly recommend the ERUPTION BREWING with nice atmosphere, delicious craft beer, and gentle staffs.
