I went to the Chemist Warehouse in Blenheim Square, Christchurch today to buy some perfumes. I was served by a great staff member the guy helped me find a scent I was looking for with some good perfume small talk. I bought a Burberry perfume and a Barbie perfume as a gift. his service was immaculate he should be working at a more high end place for sure!!!
When I got into my car, I noticed that the box of the Barbie perfume was damaged. I went back to the store within 20 minutes to exchange it for a new one. The manager was called over and said that she couldn't return it because it didn't have a seal. I explained that I had bought it like that and that she should give me a sealed one instead.
The manager was rude and unprofessional. She insisted that I had taken the seal off and brought it back to get exchanged... i mean whats the sense in that? its the same product id be getting lolz i just wanted a non damaged box since it was a gift.. I told her to check the cameras because she insisted that i took the seal of, and soo she did ironically making my standards feel so lowered. she took her time and i have placed to be. I eventually gave up and kept the damaged perfume.
I'm disappointed with the way I was treated by the manager. The other staff members were friendly and helpful, but the manager made them look bad. I will not be shopping at this Chemist Warehouse again they need to practice customer service skills better especially managers. staff seem like they hate working there most of the time lolz wouldn't complain managers seem pretty off themselves. this place is a staple for many Christchurch people and you would hope to feel valued and you do sometimes but most times its not fun going in. felt soo disrespected today.

The item appeared to be out of stock as there was none on the shelf, so I went up to the counter and asked the staff member if she was able to search it on the computer and see if there might be any out back. She was a new staff member, and was really nice, friendly, and did her best to help me. She was able to see that yes, there might be some out back, but because she was new she couldnāt help any further, and to find another staff member. So far, all is well. I find a group of staff members who are rearranging a bunch of vitamins, so I apologised for taking them away from what they were doing, but was anyone able to help me. One of them broke away from the group and came over to assist. However, she didnāt look at me, or speak to me once. I was quite shocked at how this kind of behaviour (basically ignoring customers) was deemed acceptable, as no one else from that group of staff acknowledged me either. The product ended up being located, but still in this whole interaction, the staff member never once spoke to me.
Itās a shame, because the girl at the counter was lovey and helpful. Maybe thatās because she is new, and hasnāt realised yet that Chemist Warehouse doesnāt expect friendliness and civility from their staff. I really...

Shocking customer service and totally unacceptable. My daughter was so distraught and called me to explain what had happened so I called the Riccarton branch 10 times and knowone answers the phone!! Totally disgusted with how they handled it. Luckily I then called our local store in Papanui and spoke to Chloe who went far and beyond the call of duty and rang her manager and they happily exchanged the perfume for the correct one which was absolutely amazing and the best result ever, Iām so grateful for Chloe and the manager at Papanui branch for doing this for me and my daughter but highly disappointed with Riccarton!! Totally unacceptable and disrespectful and disgusting customer service! I would never recommend them nor will I ever shop at Riccarton again in my life out of principle. 120% service from Papanui and Chloe and her manager for saving the day and ensuring my daughter got the perfume she wanted for her 18th birthday , thanks guys...
