Korean Food is one of our favorite. We almost tried food on every Christchurch Korean restaurant but this one was very disappointing. The Food and service both were below average.
We ordered few things and the total bill was $103. Few things happened that made me write this review and taking the effort to give them 1 star.
The restaurant was not busy and we went in to Dine-in. No was there at the counter and we waited for around 5 minutes and had to go and look for someone to let us sit on a table.
We had two hungry kids and myself and my wife were trying to feed the kids and while ordering there was nothing for kids on the menu; so we requested if one of the noodles dishes they can make it simple with just normal noodles and non spicy. We choose one that was $18.5 from the menu and the person who took the order and said "sorry to make it with normal noodles and non-spicy we will charge you $5 extra. Seriously? Don't mind paying extra if we requested to add something extra but we actually wanted plain noodles and they wanted to charge extra $5 which is 40% price of the actual dish.
We ordered spicy fried chicken too and all our food came out and we almost finished our food and still the fried chicken didn't arrive. I then called the person who took our order and she said "oh sorry I forgot about it; it will be another 5 minutes and I will get it for you". So the entrée finally arrived after we finished all our food.
We asked for a takeaway box to take away the Chicken that arrived at the end because the dessert arrived when the chicken arrived. When we went to pay we saw they charged us extra for the takeaway box; which we won't have taken if the item arrived on time.
The last thing on the invoice that really annoyed me is $1 extra charged for the iced milk tea we ordered for our kids. While ordering we asked the person who took our order to give the iced chocolate tea with bubbles. So she said it will be $7.50 for the iced tea and $1 extra for the bubbles total $8.50. Now on the attached bill it is clearly $8.50 charged and then again they have charged $1 extra for bubbles. So total $9.50.
If the food was good wouldn't have mind paying that $1 extra but every single dishes were very average and presentation quality, taste, flavors were very poor. So, for that $1 that you have stolen from us; here is a bonus 1 star review for you as incentive from our side that hopefully everyone can read. Rest assured this restaurant is not recommended and will never return.

Read more6 July 2022 - Dinner date with my kiddo (well, partly because I didn't cook dinner tonight 😅). We ordered takoyaki, Tteokbokki (simmered rice cake) and spicy stir fried squid + pork which came worh 4 side dishes. So delicious 😋 The side dishes can be refilled and you can do it yourself. There is a refilling station for the side dishes (kimchi, bean sprouts, tofu and peanuts).
This restaurant is located on the upper level and it covers the whole floor. They cater for singles, couples and groups. There are seats and tables are individually partitioned off.
Overall, it was a good experience.
This is a child-friendly restaurant.
This is a licensed (🍻🍸🍷🍾🍹🍺) eatery. There is no outdoor dining area.
There is limited onsite parking 🅿 as there are other restaurants in this building too.
They accept cash, EFTPOS and credit card payments (Paywave payment is available, for those who want to know).

Read moreWe have been looking for a Korean place with vegetarian / vegan options for quite a while, so what a nice and pleasant surprise was to find Eden Alley! Well hidden on the first floor off the busy Riccarton, far away from tourist attractions is this hidden treasure. Strangely decorated in British style, but don’t be offering real authentic Korean hospitality and food. From the moment you enter you are greeted by smile and friendly staff. Love also efficiency with the button on the table to press when you are ready to order. We asked for help with vegan options and server was very helpful, explaining different options and making sure we got what we want running back and forth to kitchen. Food was amazing , especially traditional Korean seafood pancakes, bibimbab and tofu hot pot. All well seasoned and spicy. Service was very attentive and even on the way out manager came out to greet us and ask about experience which was appreciated. Absolutely worth coming and well deserved 5 starts for overall experience !! Just parking maybe an issue as there aren’t many options on busy...
