Updated review - Having done all three rooms now we can say with great confidence this place is our favourite and surely the best escapes rooms in christchurch. 90mins per room seems more logical to us as a time frame and it's not an hours worth of puzzles with extra time it's flat out the whole time! We used well over an hour in all three rooms and had just 13 seconds left in the Gingerbread room š±. So so much love and attention has gone into the rooms. All the rooms are very different from one another rather than a cut and paste of the same kind of puzzles with a different 'skin' attached. We found ourselves admiring how far out of the box some of the puzzles were. There's a mix of different kinds of puzzles in all the rooms but I'd say: Gingerbread is great fun for families, Mad Scientist for you data crunchers and Psycho Motel (the one we found hardest) for those of you with a great practical thinking in and outside of the box.
It was bitter sweet finishing the last of their three rooms today knowing we wouldn't be going back until their next room is finished. Very excited for whatever comes next š¤©.
In conclusion it shouldn't be a choice of which room you do but which order you do them in as they're all fantastic!! If I was just visiting CHCH and it was a rainy day I'd book all three and do them...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMe and my partner Kyle (who also left a review) absolutely loved all the escape rooms here!
We did mad scientist and loved it so much we did psycho motel straight after (got the monthly record for this one!), we came back 2 days later to do the bunker (this was a tough one!) and finally today we finished the gingerbread house (also got the monthly record for this one).
The rooms are so beautifully done, the puzzles are exceptional and well thought out. I canāt wait until the new rooms are ready (and if youāre looking for testers weād be glad to help!). A lot of thought and effort has gone into these rooms, it would be a shame to miss out on doing them, so highly recommend giving them a go!
All the rooms Iād say are doable with 2 - 3 people, but for the best experience the bunker would be best for a larger group, some of the puzzles are very tough, the gingerbread house Iād say is the most immersive and has the best ambience and Iād say the easier puzzles but still great puzzles, mad scientist and psycho motel are on par, interesting puzzles and pretty good ambience.
Canāt wait to be back here again! Special shoutout to Ben who was working when we did 3/4 of the rooms and was an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you're looking for a fun activity to do, look no further than Escape Rooms Christchurch. We booked ahead of time online, which is a great idea as these escape rooms get booked up quickly. We chose to do the Gingerbread House room. Firstly, I have to mention the amazing friendly escape room masters and hosts....They were a breath of fresh air and the most friendliest team I've ever come across....They made the experience chill and fun. There are lockers to put your things in and you are able to go to the toilets at any stage as you're not locked into the escape room. We were blindfolded and led into the room, had a brief rundown story, and were left to crack codes and solve all that the room has to offer. The smell of the room is so dam good, adds to the theme of the escape room. I'm not going to spoil anything for you, but this was so much fun, and to have 90 minutes is really generous and well worth it. Very clever, well presented, exciting room that added to the hype for the whole 90 minutes. We'll definitely come back and do another room when we're visiting Christchurch again. Thank you for the fun time!!! 1000%...
