Good Habit — Restaurant in Christchurch

I must have visited bad habit on Sunday just been. The three of us were seated inside. Had a five minute chat and the server came and took our orders. Coffee's and brunch.

Sat there catching up and chatting away drinking our water. The restaurant was busy but under control and orders going back and forth. I noticed it had been 20 mins and other customers seated after us had gotten their coffees and food.

We waived down our server. She apologized and reconfirmed our orders before running off to check up on them. One of the other servers came over minutes later and he asked us what was wrong and reconfirmed our drinks and the dishes we ordered.

The orginal server came back 5 minutes later and apologized again and offered our drinks and a free slice each from the cabinet off our bill.

Drinks were rushed through and came out 5 minute's later. No complaints about the coffees and my iced chocolate was yum 😋.

Food followed about 15 minutes later. No problems with the quality of the food or how it was presented. But because of the order mix up they did forget the the extra hash I ordered on the side. I dont think the mushrooms were oven broiled but more fried and would have been much better cooked if they were not whole but halved or quartered.

I did not take up the free slice that was offered but my two friends did. Both said were hard and not that tasty.

We were there for almost as hour and a half and this was all caused by our server misplacing the order docket. This was evident when the second server came back and confirmed the order.

Please follow up with your staff to be more attentive and not be so absent minded.

As this is an old convent and I was a good catholic boy I would say 10 Hail Mary's, 10 Our Fathers and 5 Glory Bes would be...

So I ordered blueberry pancakes NO banana. And yes i got blueberry pancakes no banana, what was strange was.... The top pancake was the only one that had any blueberries, a total of 6. So my plate is 3 small-ish pancakes with 6 blueberries and small jug of maple syrup -the texture was very thick all most crystal like in some parts. Then a small amount of berry couli on the plate.

I was all very dry and sweet, no butter, no offer to replace the banana with something.

I queried why I only had 6 blueberries on the top pancake, I was told that's just how their made and they could give me some more blueberries.... I decline as I wanted them cooked in my pancakes.

Such a shame as it seams to be quite nice there, they allow dogs. But really 6 blueberries on one pancake. If it's a cost thing just change me accordingly, I would rather have what I think I'm getting than some watered-down version.

In all honesty even though they don't taste the best Dennys all ways makes good enough pancakes for half the price. And of course Drexels is about the same price and those pancakes are more blueberry than cake, and they have butter.

Will try again as I can...

The food was below average, got the Big Breakfast, the sausages were not too great, tomato was a bit under cooked and just one slice of bread for two poached eggs. Got no salt and pepper for my table, eggs were unseasoned and there was a tiny amount of sauce drizzled on the whole meal but no butter. The wait staff was very unorganized. Everytime was a different person coming to serve, and everytime they got the table wrong, my full order was a Big Breakfast and a orange juice. They tried to bring me coffee, a bagel and some sort of cake, all the while trying to take my orange juice to other tables, finally when my food arrived it was the same person who took the order and as luck would have it they remember who order that.
