Terrible service for online ordering. I chose pickup from the lockers specifically.. and clicked âon my wayâ to the text I received from countdown Colombo within 2 mins of receiving it. Our house is only 5 mins drive from the supermarket. So very quick response to the texts you receive and when we arrived I clicked âIâm hereâ. So roughly 7 mins in total. We sat for 35 minutes waiting to be texted the code for the lockers. We finally decided to ring up and ask where the code was. We got told by a very rude lady, I think her name was Bernadette? âOh we are running late tonightâ - that part I understood and was fine with.. it was what followed, to then be told âwell your orders been here waiting for ages and we were about to put it backâ ages? I doubt most customers would arrive within 7 minutes max of the text being received- Iâm sure people have taken much longer. Then I ask âok so why are you putting our order back when we have been waiting here for so long and clicked that we had arrived 35 minutes agoâ and got told âjust to come into the store and collect it thenâ. Next we got home, unpacked the groceries- order was completely wrong, missing items,wrong items.. very frustrating service. Then to top it all off thereâs a reason I selected âallow substitutesâ on the online order⌠for substitutes to be made if thereâs bits out of stock.    Read moreI was there this morning to query my purchase on 20th June, 2022, as soon as i got there holding my receipt, the supervisors or team leader were looking at me with a sour face, I told them that the reason i purchased the item is because they were on sale, they pointed me to three different people and in the end back to the big lady that first entertain me. She has a sour face, you can tell that she is not happy, or not in the mood to deal with a customer query, maybe because she got interrupted from talking to other lady, she shouldn't be in customer service, they were so rude to me except for the older lady that told them to give me the refund. Their attitude made me so angry to them, the big lady said she did not want to deal with me so i said the same to her and she walked away, how rude. Your people are not happy there, expecially the customer service, they should find another job. I shop there for convenience, if I can avoid it I won't shop there anymore, i always shop at Fresh Choice Barrington and I don't have a problem with them, they are so nice, but Countdown Colombo, sour faces customer service

   Read moreHi all, I decided to add my two cents to the other reviews and had seen some interesting comments. I read the comments from the gentleman regarding buying a lotto ticket at 8.45 am and not getting his way. Saying that no one was around and the âsilly â woman wouldnât sell them until 9am. I will give him the benefit of the doubt that he just didnât realise that they are not allowed to sell them beforehand, and there are cameras operating all the time, so no one being around is not correct. If the staff member did sell the ticket prior to 9am they could be fired and I would assume they were not willing to risk their job for you! Just the same for alcohol.
I hope that I have given clarity to that situation. Now to my review, I moved over to this side of town a couple of years ago so this is my new local. I have found great staff (bar 2) to be helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. This team have been brilliant during the lockdowns and continued to smile, even through the masks, during a very uncertain time. I for one am very appreciative of all of the staff. I can always find what I need or get help if I canât. Anyway my experience to date has been positive and would recommend...
