As a store to visit this is a nice Countdown. Good parking, clean, today and although there isn't a clear culture of Customer Service as a priority, I think we can put that down to some challenging times. I.e. Covid and possibly staff shortages. What this store is appalling at is getting delivery right. And unfortunately my experiences over the past two years can directly correlate really bad service to being on one of the delivery subscriptions.
I had felt, that things improved over my past 3 deliveries so I paid $118 for the 6 month delivery saver but there was about 2 bags of items charged for and not supplied in the first delivery on that. Honestly I had 7 in a row where items were missing and charged for, and also really bad substitutions like plunger coffee being substituted for coffee beans. Customers order delivery and pay for the service so they don't have to ome instore. I am now faced with 16 items missing from my shop that I went elsewhere to purchase and also the Hassel of having to negotiate 20 minutes in the Olive app to get my money back or go into the store and deal with staff that think I'm happy to just get my money back. No thought for the time and inconvenience or the disruption on the day when so much is missing. Not once have I ever had an apology from any of them. It feels like you don't want to say anything because they will make you wait even longer to serve you if you dare show how upsetting it is to have to do that so so often.
Based on the history of my ordering it's much worse on a subscription so don't sign up to that at this store unless you can accept this level of service. I will collect when I can and from other stores that can organise themselves better like the airport or Moorehouse when I can travel to them. I'm so annoyed by this latest one! So annoyed at the amount of effort it's taken and will still take me to undo the errors of making a bad choice AGAIN to order delivery...
Read moreMy partner and I have had a profusely negative experience over the past week with this particular store. We placed our bi-weekly grocery order on Tuesday in the hopes of getting it delivered so we could avoid the chaos of the supermarket. There were no delivery times available. We decided to order online and pick it up, but there were no times available, so we settled for a slot 48hrs later. When we received our goods, despite having charged us, the Bread, Ham, Cheese, Milk, Butter, Ice Cream, Lettuce, Bananas, Broccoli, Kumara, Onions, Parsnip, Beef, Chicken, Lamb, Compost Bags and Crushed Garlic weren't accounted for, nor replaced with a similar item. When we called to complain they simply offered us a $20 voucher to be picked up from in-store, which would defeat the entire goal we had originally set out to achieve.
The lack of competence, empathy and ability to resolve problems is alarmingly poor.
I have zero intention of returning to this store and would recommended that anybody searching to make their lives a little easier during a pandemic should avoid them entirely.
Not worth paying the extra $$$ for a service worse than...
Read moreI wish to thank the staff at Countdown Northlands for their service today. My mother has recently passed and I was needing salads etc for lunch as family was arriving. The salad wall had nothing in it. A lovely young woman assisted me by finding a produce person who first offered his condolences and explained that the produce manager was looking through recently delivered boxes as we spoke to find me something, which they did. As I left the young woman checked I had got what I needed and offered condolences. I returned this afternoon to pick up more food and was served by another young woman who again treated my situation with kindness. I was incredibly impressed with the kindness and maturity these young people showed. They were just what a grieving person needed and seemed to offer this care naturally. I wish I had taken their names so I could mention them personally. You have some fantastic staff...
