It's a national, international, educational historical place for every NZ citizens who wants to call Aotearoa their Home Land. There is All you need to know about NZ history, as part of a Library: But this is more Real life, Real people, Real sacrificial with very deep personal impact, to all surviving NZ-landers and their families for all NZ-landers. And this is where the Staff of the Navy Museum; comes in with their immense well informed training and professionalism to help you ponder and feel the souls of the Brave Men & Women who sacrifice their lives for our freedom. These words of mine are not enough, you need to come down to the Navy Museum and see it for yourself. And a Cafe is right there, by the entrance that will take you the extra mile, in and outside a special place for the children as well. A great place well organized and specially design for families and for everyone. A great place to be, highly...

The Torpedo Bay Navy Museum is a hidden gem!

This museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in learning about the New Zealand Navy and Torpedo Bay's rich history. Exhibits are presented in a professional and engaging manner, making it easy to absorb the wealth of information on display.

I was impressed by the clarity and readability of the exhibit descriptions – perfect for visitors of all ages!

Despite its compact size, the museum packs a punch, with plenty to see and explore. Allow at least 2 hours to do it justice!

The interactive displays and small playground make it an excellent destination for families. Kids will love the hands-on activities, while parents can enjoy the stunning views of the ocean while grabbing a bite to eat.

Overall, the Torpedo Bay Navy Museum is a fantastic and fun activity for the whole family....

The museum offers free entry, with donations encouraged, and the staff are both helpful and knowledgeable. Despite its size, the museum has many fascinating stories to tell, and the buildings that house it have an equally compelling history. It's impressive that the decision was made to use the existing buildings rather than demolishing them and constructing a new facility. The museum's displays are thoughtfully arranged and incorporate excavated features like turntables, making for an immersive experience. The exhibits convey the real-life stories and experiences of individuals, providing insight into life at sea and the various roles and challenges faced during wartime. The museum is a must-visit destination, and the on-site café is...

This is a fantastic little museum about 5 minutes walk from the ferry terminal, just turn right and follow the path along the beach. Its compact displays hold a treasure trove of Navy memorabilia along with a ton of knowledge about each one. From the early 1800s all the way through to modern times, the displays are set out in a story board fashion. There is a knowledge hunt, along with brass rubbing, for the kids and badge making ( for a super low fee); and a nautical themed play park outside. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and it is has free entrance. This is worth a trip to the north shore for, especially if you are into New Zealand naval history.

Interesting and well laid out displays. Well worth a walk over to visit. However, similar to the war memorial museum, they seem to let local residents in for free, subsidised by charging foreign resident tourists I travel the world a lot, and am quite surprised at how discriminatory NZ is against foreign tourists, with regard to milking them at these locations, when compared to most other countries Why not just operate an equality entry policy with the normal reductions for kids and pensioners, which sends out a more welcoming message. I'm sure locals would be equally happy to support these quality venues through modest entrance fees
