Opera Cakery — Attraction in Henderson-Massey

Nice enough shop as we entered. I was picking up a cake for a friend as we were heading this way to his daughters 1st birthday party. Walked in and asked for the cake under my friends name. The person working didn't know. Said they had many orders and didn't know under the name my friend had put. He proceeded to look through a note book which orders were taken. I won't comment on there system but obviously very unorganized as I had to ring my friend for him to further explain what I had asked. Then the person working there asked what was the cake ment to look like which we explained. He went in the back.. after a few minutes he came out with the cake and said they didn't record a name but only the description. Seems very poor to be honest. What is someone ordered the same cake and cakes were swapped over? I will admit the cake didn't taste too bad however for the price I was told my friend paid I didn't think it was worth it. Came across this place on UberEats a couple of weeks ago when I was seriously craving cake. Ordered the taro and cheese, strawberry and Black Forest and was honestly impressed! The presentation was great, the portions were generous and the flavours were spot on: fluffy, fresh, light and not overly sweet (how I like it).

Ended up visiting the store in person the other day and tried the mango crepe, pistachio cream and of course, had to get the taro and cheese again. Every single one was perfect. Prices are super reasonable too.

Honestly, I haven’t done a review in a long time but I feel compelled to share how amazing this place is - I ordered on Uber eats: presentation was immaculate and the strawberry chiffon cake is amazing and the strawberry snow mountain is delicious - it’s like the perfect balance of sweetness, fresh cream and strawberries in a beautiful cake. The price is worth it.

Also highly rate the mango pudding and the Oreo pudding as well. If you love strawberries though - you have to try...
