Browns Bay Fisheries — Attraction in Hibiscus and Bays

This is as bad as it gets....the fries have been beyond soggy.....absolutely soggy (we ordered them crispy butthey do not care obviously) ......the fish was tasteless, the batter half soggy....just really bad....I am shocked that someone can produce such bad fish n chips! It is not very hard to make a proper fish n chips but this shop is the worst I have ever been.....on top of it - a really strange , kind of angry atmosphare....but that is not it! I have seen how they refilled the deepfryer but not with oil but with the cheapest block of lard! A white large block of lard.....this is the cheapest and most unhealthy version of deepfrying fat possible.....Honestly the worst Fish n chips possible!!! I still have that taste of that cheap nasty lards in my mouth.....NEVER AGAIN!!! I would give 0 stars if that would...

Stopped in last night and purchased 4 crab sticks and $6 chips (minimum being $5.50). Thought that $6 would be plenty for two people. Unfortunately it was barely enough for one. We like our chips well done but even so these chips were barely cooked as still very pale and mushy. They tasted raw and flavourless. Not really surprising as portions of chips were sitting in fryer baskets in the air waiting for patrons to order them. Also we only received 3 crab sticks so that was disappointing too. Im glad I didn’t order any fish.

I read the reviews before coming to browns bay and this was not our number one choice but the other shop was closed. I had my reservations about eating here based on previous reviews and sorry to say...

My kumura chips were horrendous. Raw, bland, completely inedible. I tried to struggle through them but was not able to which is rare for me and my kumura chips! The fritter I got was pretty bad too - incredibly stodgy, but in a bad way,, just flour and water. I tried to take the chips back for a refund but got shouted at. He insisted all kumura chips are like the ones they made! I had no idea they were supposed to be crunchy from how raw they are, and not sweet at all. After a lot of arguing he looked at what I'd eaten and offered me half the money as I'd eaten some chips. The very lovely girls working there just gave me the full refund to the disgust of the man who was obviously too full of himself to...
