AB Hair Salon Browns Bay — Local services in Hibiscus and Bays

Worst experience I have ever had. I wanted my roots touched up and 4 foils put in the top of my head. I also wanted my hair trimmed to the same style it was in, where it is layered so the foils give a lighter layer on top and my darker colour shows on the ends. The stylist proceeded to put foils under the top later of hair. I asked her when she started she said no I have enough foils on top. I need some underneath. I told her its going to look funny with the root touch up and the rest of the foils starting 2cm down. She said no it won't which it very clearly does look abnormal. When cutting my hair I asked twice if she was putting the layers in, she said yes but in fact she cut my hair shorter taking away the layers. When she was done, she could see I was disappointed and asked why. I explained that she had not cut or coloured the way I had asked and her response was that she thinks it looks nice the way she did it and my way would just be messy. Quite frankly it was a waste of money and I totally regret taking someone's advice to go there. Two weeks later I went to my usual hairdresser (she was on leave at the time) to fix a really bad cut, one side was actually slightly longer than the other!! And to put the foils the way they should be and to put the cherry on top my hairdresser charges half the price I paid for a botch job. It does not deserve one star but I can't post unless I...

I had to edit my previous review. Businesses sometimes make mistakes or something goes wrong, but the mark of a genuine business is where they do everything to make a wrong right. Our experience wasn't good - my son requested colour into his hair which should have given a vibrant result and lasted several months, but after 2 washes it had gone. The owner contacted me to fix it up. however she did not only fix up the outcome, she also investigated how this happened, investigated the product and then trained the staff on the issue with the product and application to ensure that it doesn't happen again, as well as ensuring that both my son and I were treated like VIPs when we came back for another very long visit. Not only was the second result outstanding, but I was highly impressed at the thoroughness of the Salon's owner in her dedication to fixing the cause of the problem and our satisfaction with the Salon. I visited AB Hair Salon nearly two weeks ago and had a really lovely experience. The service was exceptional, and the team was friendly and professional throughout.

I initially went in for a consultation with a balayage look in mind, but after chatting with the stylist, I was recommended a root fade with some foils instead. I decided to go with Desiree's suggestion.

I’m giving 3 stars because I didn’t feel the final look didn't quite match the inspiration picture I had brought in. I was expecting a darker root to better blend with my natural outgrowth, gradually lightening through the ends, but I felt that a lot of my existing hair color was still quite visible and the overall effect didn’t have the same dimension or tone as the photo.
