Paradise Nail Spa — Attraction in Hibiscus and Bays

First time here and will never go back.

I asked for a full mani pedi spa. I told the nail technician at least 2x that’s what I required. Got my hands and feet soaked and the cursory cleaning. When I checked 3 out of 5 nails had the side cuticles hanging out. When I asked if this is how they normally do their manicures, the technician reverted me to another technician to explain to me that it was a misunderstanding and they thought I asked for an express one and if I wanted to change “it”. The weird thing was I kept being asked if I wanted to change the service like it was my fault that I did not ask for the right one. I mentioned express or not, I should not have my side cuticles hanging out. The next line of reasoning from the other technician was they cannot cut deeper, but if it what I wanted, they’ll do it. I explained it was not the case, there is a way to cut a side cuticle cleanly. The other nail technician was more interested to being right than to listen to what my concern was. I was the one who gave up as we were not going anywhere and the way she was talking to me have started attracting other people’s attention.

Their owner/manager eventually took over, did a better job at applying the second layer of polish and asked the technician doing my toenails to help flatten my injured (old nail injury, not their fault) toenail.

Fact: the mani-pedi spa here is $70 for soaking your hands and feet in warm water and getting your cuticles pushed and cut (you have to stay alert though that the cuts are clean, else you’ll walk out with more hang nails than you’ve walked in) and regular polish...

I am very sorry to leave this type of review, but I am very unhappy with the job that was done on my nails and feet. I asked and paid for a standard manicure and quick pedicure. The book in process was awful at the counter. The quick pedicure was in itself very quick and rushed, my toes are flooded with nail polish. The standard manicure was just weird the massage lasted all of 20 seconds each hand and there was no consistency with what movements was done on each hand, literally a drop of lotion, and the "top" of hand was rubbed.... finish? The paint job looks like my nails have already grown out because the lady didn't take the polish close enough to the cuticle. I've just left the salon to find bits of nail that was filed underneath my nail itself, the polish is inconsistent and I just feel I could have done a better job on my own. I really did not expect this place to be like a "professionail" type of service and feel. My lady barely spoke to me and when she did I could not hear here. I see there have been some hygiene issues at this spa and I dont fully feel they were dealt with, the basin looked awful, dust and grime around it. Provided wonderful services to my friend and I, so we could enjoy a mani pedi together. It was fun and like you hope for , a lovely atmosphere and we were able to sit close by each other. Very clever time management by the staff and we were done within minutes of each other. The staff are always glad to try things and enjoy a challenge. Olivia has a fun sense of humor and the staff are all friendly and smiling (from under the masks 😷 😄) I appreciate that they make huge effort to accommodate walk ins even if they are busy yet I see good communication if they have bookings they will say to the walk in when they can start 😉 ie come back in 20min , yet they are so polite and apologetic it makes you glad knowing its not a bother to walk in and that if you do make an appointment, your time slot will be respected.

I have frequented Paradise Nail Spa for about 2 years now and highly recommend. Parking is easy to find across the road in a public carpark that has many spaces (it used to be the old New world carpark and is now aces sports bar and op shop/shopping carpark)

Then you get to stroll through to the beach for a new nail selfie .. so Paradise...
