Some of the staff here are really good at their job, however I went to Sephora in Sylvia on Friday 12 August, and majority of the staff members that day were just chatting with each other (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing), but they were completely not realising or ignoring the fact that they have customers in the store. I asked if one of the staff could help with colour matching, and instead of actually helping putting on the foundation on for us and testing shades with us (because we don’t have a lot of experience with makeup, and they shouldn’t assume that we do), she straight up just gave us three different shades, gave us some sponges and told us to try them out for ourselves, and she would come back and see how we are going. First of all, why is she leaving when she is supposed to help color matching? Why didn’t she stay with us? We are HER customers?! She left us for 5-10 min talking to her coworkers, then comes back and gives the most useless advice. Then leaves again, so we could “have a think about what shade we want to go for”. But this was not the help we were expecting to receive, so we straight up just left. We didn’t end up buying the foundation. We will try another day, when the customer service is a little better, and there is a better person who actually knows what they are doing. I had a disappointing experience in another makeup store while desperately trying to find the perfect makeup for my wedding - the catch being that I RARELY wear makeup, so I have no idea where to start.
Right at the door, the lady asked if I needed help, and called over the BIGGEST RAY OF SUNSHINE to help me ❤️ five stars to the store, five stars to the products, five stars to the staff, and five stars to JOSIE!
I cannot thank Josie enough for spending so much time with me, listening to me, talking with me, and ultimately finding the most perfect products for my skin. She was so happy and positive, and really made a daunting experience one that I would love to have again! She answered all of my questions, gave the best advice, and really wants what is best for her clients and wants them to be happy. She is relatable, knowledgeable, understanding, and just definitely someone who is perfect at helping the makeup noobies feel comfortable in a place full of makeup. Best experience I ever had, and safe to say I have the perfect knowledge and products to hopefully be able to pull of my big day!

Read moreI visited the store on Saturday. Good product range and the makeup assistants were kind and helpful when looking for products. Here's what wasn't it: Manager - I take it she's the manager, she walks around with a slick back ponytail, beautiful makeup but she isn't looking at the customers!!! I believe she just looks at her staff and walks around telling them where to be stationed etc. I know this because she did this to 2 workers next to me. Manager or TL, whichever you are - please set up your staff to look after their areas, give them set duties for the day and you can focus on the customers - your customers were pretty much looking after themselves 🤦🏻♀️ staff do not help you at the makeup counter, this is a fact, even the staff reading this know it. They put makeup on cotton pads for you to apply yourself.. There's no one who'll help you apply makeup. They need more workers The security man - oh my gosh maybe because I was the only islander in there (he was too) he just kept watching me, like turning his head look at me, looking around things that obstructed his view from me to see me and not in a good way, he just kept watching me like I was gonna steal lol. Honestly please tell him to not be so creepy.
