Centennial Garden Waterfall — Attraction in Napier

The gardens are rocky raised beds with short loops that culminate in a bridge that crosses the pool of a 50 meter man made waterfall - water is piped back to the top from the pool. You can see the large pipes in the water. Looking at the waterfall to the left is a path that can take you to the top and the adventurous among you can get a thrill climbing up the pathway. Some civil disobedience is required. There are veiws of Marine Parade here to be discovered if you are willing to go off the beaten track and to the very top. It is a very clean and well kept spot, great for a picture, however no tables for a picnic and no grass area to sit - plenty of facilities just over the road on Marine...

My friends in Napier had no idea there was a waterfall here. It is not to far from the main town. The waterfall is surround by gardens and you also can enjoy the gardens too. The volume of water was less, maybe it is more after a heavy rain. Across the street you have walk on the beach. There is plenty of street parking. Toilet facilities are available. You do not have to pay to visit this garden...

Just a short walk from the CBD it’s a lovely park. We went when Poppies were in full bloom. Two kids under five loved exploring and the gardener on site was very kind.
