Of the five staff in the Timberyard James was the only one working today the other four were employed to park machinery in the customers way and talk amongst themselves.

After completing the paperwork you stand at the counter and wait. After a while you ask where the trailers are and what the process is to be loaded. The response is the trailers are all Outside.

So you go outside collect your trailer drive inside eventually find the package left for you, Manoeuvre the trailer to the package. Then you need to hunt down one of the four staff chatting at the counter to get a lift to load the goods. After securing the load you drive forward to the gate where the man who has watched you for five minutes asks to search your car, again making you wait.

when you return the trailer there is no way to walk back to the Timberyard to return the lead and shackle. You can either walk to the front door and back to the Timberyard or drive into the Timberyard.

After driving into the Timberyard two forklifts stopped back to back block progress to the exit. While the staff finish their conversation you get to sit and wait.

After the staff consider you have waited long enough one of them moves a forklift to allow you to the exit. At the exit the man who has watched you waiting for several minutes requires you to allow your car to be searched before you can leave.

If you express your displeasure about the customer service the car checker on the gate informs you repeatedly this is just what he needs.

With hindsight it was as funny as Fawlty towers, the wonderful British farce about bad customer service. At the time it felt plain rude.
