Hihuaua is an absolute essential visit to your northland holiday or your local weekend out and about walk. Good location along the loop walk. Genuine and incredibly well crafted Māori arts and crafts on display, always someone busy on a project in the adjacent workshop. Knowledgeable and friendly locals to answer any questions you have. Beautiful gifts and art for your whare with a story.

A classic, beautiful building with great wines, a classy restaurant and great views across the vineyard. There's a great story told in photos of a destructive fire followed by the earthquake only 2 years later. It was a monastery long ago and there's a chapel now used as a wedding reception venue.

Such a gorgeous space. The wairua was present hanging from every piece of taonga that adorned the walls. We attended the Runanga Iwi o Ngapuhi Roadshow and was a fitting venue

Excellent space and will be a valuable asset for Whangarei for years to come. The combination of inside carving workshop, outside waka shelter and gallery/event space makes this a comprehensive active cultural centre. Team this with the friendly and informative staff, makes this a must visit for tourists and locals alike. I look forward to many return visits and the upcoming...

It's mediocre in every way, apart from where the building is situated.

The " gourmet " salad, classed as Vegatarian, but has no protein,is just a simple salad and expensive because its so ordinary and called " gourmet!!" The dressing was very sweet. I wouldn't need ever to go ...
