Sushi Republic Okara — Restaurant in Northland

My favorite sushi spot in Whangarei. I love that they are always well stocked with my favorite flavours. I also appreciate that their cabinet is well chilled, especially over the Summer months and I think it's because of this, that you very rarely see flies inside there, unlike other sushi shops around. They did some catering for me recently too, which was simple and easy to order and was all packed beautifully and ready to go at the correct pick up time and date. Should have known when I walked in that this visit was going to be a bad idea. And yep it sure was a bad idea when I was picking my food with tongs, I noticed a lot of flies in the food display cabinets. I should have stopped and left but stupidly I stayed. I paid and went outside to eat the first few sushi were ok the fourth one was rotten my body instantly rejected it and vomited up my lunch. Thank you, Sushi republic, for making me sick. I would not reccomend this sushi place. Yesterday on the 2nd of January 2019. This place was the only sushi open in Okara and was quite busy. The food way look lovely and well presented but it was the worst sushi I have had in a good while. I wish i knew this before spending $30 for two people !
