I implore you...

Do not utilise this establishment for any takeaway meals and get caught out like I did.

They are listed on Uber Eats and showed they deliver.

In good faith, I ordered food from here. I was told after payment went through they can not deliver and could I please either pick it up or utilise another delivery service.

Having arrived in Whanganui and having no transport, this was not an option for me.

The principle of the matter was I paid for and expected delivery.

Worse part was the arrogance of the guy on the phone. He hung up on me 2 times.

So I caught a cab, went down there, fronted the guy eye to eye and spoke to the guy who hung up on me and told him there was no need to be rude and hang up. He was still rude. That say's it all! By this time,I wouldn't want to eat anything from out of here even if it was offered to compensate!

Still in deficet of money from here.

All that glitters is not gold.

Go elsewhere and not here.

Rubbish customer service.

Dont get caught out like I did.

Why even advertise via Uber Eats?

Why not find a solution to appease the paying customer who paid for food and delivery?

The why's behind your non delivery is not mine ot anyone elses problem.

Rubbish place!

I will make sure everyone knows not to visit this place!!

1 star is far to much for...

The venue and service were top notch. The food was very average at best though. We had a tandoori chicken starter and the spice level was great but the flavours just weren't there for long. Butter chicken and chicken tika masala for mains (nz Indian classic of course), the butter chicken was comparable to canned tomato soup with little flavour and not the right bite to it. The masala was better but it just felt like it was missing so much, we were mildly dissapointed. Naans were too expensive ($5 for garlic version) for their size and a glass of coke was also $5 for a skinny glass. Again though, loved the service, I understand waiting staff might not be too experienced as they didn't clear tables often and forgot about us for a while but they were very kind, polite and charismatic. Glasses were not polished though (minor detail, just being a bit picky).

Overall: being a kiwi and craving butter chicken when I want Indian food, I would recommend going to north indian takeaway instead. For atmosphere and gatherings I would consider this place but would also look at...

I took my mother and elderly aunty to The Castle this week. It holds great memories as my grandfather built the restaurant along time ago. We were very interested to see how it had been updated and the new cuisine. The decor is a great mix of the original castle with a fusion of influence from India, delightful. The service team was well balanced and very helpful. It was a bit of a risk to take Mum and Aunty to their first Indian meal, however it turned out perfectly, and they will return. We had a lovely mix of korma, buttered chicken, a very popular blue cheese naan. It was a well priced menu making for a reasonably priced night out. I highly recommend a visit...

These guys do fantastic curries. They have terrific vegetarian options, (the egg plant bhartha is my fav and delicious) and they are pretty spot on with mild/med/hot is that worries you. The naan is also really good, I always get the cheese and chilli one and its top notch. Have eaten in and the restaurant is great, its not fine dining (yet they're upgrading as they go though) but the place has heaps of character and the kids loved it, they played in the bus for ages (so did I lol) . The cocktails are also really good but remember the cost a bit more than your average drink. Recommend checking the place out both take away or eat in.

Fun fun place to eat Indian food. The food wasn't the best Indian food I've had. However it was easily over average. The Chai was really good, and served to you in a generous kettle, so you end up drinking about 3 cups worth! Yum The chicken Tikka masala was fine and traditional. Naan bread was crisp and chewy as it should be and nice and garlicky. Where they stand out is the atmosphere and service!. We received our menus on an ornate canister. The decor in the place was fun and there is free parking. I had a wonderful experience there. :-)

We moved to Whanganui 8 years ago and have been saying we have to try out this place but never had a chance. Today we have family friends came from Auckland so we thought to try. We are all soo impressed. The presentation of the food is very beautiful. The food is beyond perfect 👌 lovely hospitality from the owner and staffs. Thank you for this lovely dining experience.
