Got to hand it to The Brick house they never disappoint. Many occasions we have come here to enjoy good quality homely style meals and it's always worth it. From there $10 breakfast menu which is of course plentiful, to the lunch menu and then dinner. All very affordable prices in my opinion whether you wanting to do a function or enjoy a date night with a loved one. Grab a bite to eat with a friend or colleague they got ya covered there at the brickhouse. Staff are super friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is lively even when it's a busy time of the day. Gorgeous style to the place and there's plenty of places to sit and enjoy your meals. Child friendly I celebrated my 30th here 3 years ago and had my niece and nephews and they let them play and enjoy themselves as well. There's the option of making a meal a half size because they are very big portions which is great, an entire kids menu as well.

A great family atmosphere, ordered two lamb shanks, portions were so large, I couldn't finish both of them, dressed with hot gravy, the meat was falling off the bone, the vegetables were sizable, I was particularly intrigued by the potato ball, crumbed and deep fried with cheesy goodness in every bite, the lamb was complemented well with the mint sauce and mashed potatoes were well seasoned and hot. This is a great quality meal for the price. If you're looking for a hearty meal and a great atmosphere this is one of the best places to go. It takes a lot to create a good vibe 😊 Kudos to the friendly wait staff and the hard working chefs, keep up the good work!

Not gonna lie, best steak I have had in a hot while. Expectations were exceeded. Staff were wonderful, food was faultless. I had scotch fillet [medium] cooked to perfection. Opted for veges so cheese cauli, cabbage, peas carrots, a roast potato and a scoop if mashed potato, added an egg.... perfection. Not sure what this building used to be but it reeked of Whanganui history. Had to post before and after photos lol. Well done Brick House ... Five Stars

The Brick house restaurant and Bar has a warm inviting ambiance and is wheel chair accessible. Your host Priya and her team ensure your dining experience is always pleasurable and memorable going the extra mile to please. It is a great place to unwind and enjoy the company of friends and family, suitable for all ages. It is a good idea to reserve your table or function room for large bookings. The lunch menu has a few extra's to the dinner menu including lambs fry and bacon, sausages and onions and a squid and bacon salad. Electronic ordering ensures efficient service. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with consistently great cuisine, extremely generous portions, at very reasonable prices, catering to all ages and dietary requirements with plenty of healthy choices including salads, steak meals, gourmet burgers, lambs fry and bacon, seafood, vegetarian, gluten free options along with a kids menu. There is a great range of deserts to tempt your palette. Suitable for all age groups with a choice of small or large portions offering great value for money. Take out is available. There is a frozen meals menu which are extremely popular, pickup or delivery offered. There is a function room for conferences. The foyer boasts a lounge area where you can sit back and relax away from the hustle and bustle of the restaurant. It features a large flat screen TV you can watch sports events and enjoy a beer or keep the kids entertained while you finish your...

If I could put a minus star for service for the Brick House I would. I visited yesterday with a group of 43 ladies. We were booked for 12.30 and the organiser of our bus trip had visited the Brick House and arranged with the management to have a set menu of three dishes plus desert at a set price. We arrived just before 12.30 and our ladies had all made their menu choices last week and the numbers had been sent through to the chef last week. We had been assured that we would all be served and out by 1.30 as we had pre ordered our food. By 12.55 no one had anything Infront of them and to cut a long story short three of our group ended up serving our group's tables. We had to ring and apologise to the the place we were visiting and and ended up taking our deserts with us on the bus in plastic boxes with plastic spoons to eat the with. Don't book here if you have a large group, they want the money for your visit but won't spend anything on employing extra staff to enable your visit to be a success. The Brick House should not advertise as a function centre, it just can't cope with a crowd. The two stars I have given here is for the food, which was very nice when it...

I have been lunching regularly at the Brick House for years. Wonderful food and staff. Last night we had a family dinner there for our 50th wedding anniversary. Our waitress was ok I suppose, a bit offhand, but did the job. The food was average to say the least. Remember I like the food and the environs. But the game was dropped last night. I was looking forward to my lambs fry, my favourite, always done perfectly at lunchtime. Last night the meat was hard as if it had been sitting for ages, the meal could have been warmer. The roast vegies and greens were not as nice or as abundant as I'm used to. Others reported problems with their dishes as well. A lack of flavouring.

Lastly my wife asked for some water. A waitress arrived and grumpily placed a water bottle in front of my wife saying "the glasses are over there" before storming off.

Do you have different staff on at night? The place wasn't overly busy, not like a Friday lunchtime.

We had planned to cut our anniversry cake there but decided to go home and do it.

I'm putting it down to an...
