Bluestone On George — Hotel in South Island

We booked Bluestone on George for two nights, as a central place to stay in the centre of Dunedin on a road trip around the South Island. It was months ago this was booked and I could not recall the reason why this accommodation was selected. It soon became very obvious!||There is a steep driveway up to the hotel (Dunedin is very hilly). We were greeted by the owner, who was very friendly and helpful. We were booked into a 4th floor loft room. It is a small boutique hotel, but there is a lift to all floors. ||The hotel looks new and is extremely clean and well maintained, but the outstanding features are the in room features and the attention to detail. The room is a good size. The king size bed is extremely comfortable, together with a range of pillows to meet all preferences of firmness. There is a washer/dryer in the kitchen area, which was very helpful as we are on a month long trip. There is a spa bath and powerful shower and under floor heating in the bathroom. The TV has a range of Sky channels available and a DVD player with a library of movies available downstairs. ||There are no food options available at the hotel, but there is an array of places to eat on George Street and it is only a 15 minute walk to The Octagon, which appears to be the centre of the city. Bluestone is a boutique hotel within 5to 10 minutes walk of the centre of the cbd and is on George street with all of its lovely stores and cafes. |The hotel|Is so well maintained there is not a thing out of place. The hedges and bushes are manicured and this care is evident everywhere in terms of how clean and well maintained everything is. |The rooms are really warm and comfortable and they have all the little things taken care of that make a trip. The bathrooms are clean and modern with good water pressure. in shower that is above a fabulous spa bath. |All rooms have access to wifi and sky channels. ||The reception has a lovely lounge with great views and drinks menu. |The tariff is excellent and value for money. ||The only aspect that could be considered is a coffee pod machine in each room. ||We will return. A very boutique and niche independent hotel in Dunedin.||What attracted us in choosing Bluestone on George - excellent location, complimentary car parking, kitchenette complete with front load washer/dryer combo, along with stylish decor, balcony and fantastic views (from the high floors) over Dunedin.||It's the little extras provided such as - bathrobes, underfloor heating in the bathroom, heated towel rails, Elemis toiletries, choice of pillows and electric blanket which are a thoughtful touch for those travellers staying during the cooler months.||Just one recommendation - fold up luggage stand would be a great addition to the room.||Thank you to Sandra and Neville for a wonderful stay - we will...
