What a wonderful service this is! We were a family of 4 walking the Routeburn Track (starting at the Routeburn Shelter and finishing at The Divide). We looked at the price of buses for 4 of us and decided it was better value just to drive our hire car to the start of the track and have it moved. It was also super convenient as we then didn't have the stress of being at the bus stop at any particular time on our last day. This was just as well as we couldn't leave camp until 10 on our final day due to aerial baiting so we would not have been able to take our time on the track. Such a great sight seeing our car at the end and being able to zoom down to Te Anau where we were staying for the night. Great system and Mike and Kiyomi dealt with our hire company (Ezi car) to arrange insurance. Easy pick up from Glenorchy on our way through, and a return in Te Anau. Car in perfect condition, with some fresh water bottles, which was much appreciated on a hot day. ...
Read moreHad a great experience using trackhopper during our trek of the routeburn in early November. Mike and kiyomi were very prompt in answering any questions I had leading up to the trek and very easy to work with. We completed our trek from routeburn shelter to the divide and it was very easy to pick up the key box in Glenorchy on our way. Kiyomi showed us how to use the key box and a good place to secure it. The hike was fantastic and when we finished our car was waiting ready for us at the divide. Our car had a full tank of gas and we had already been refunded the difference for the gas money we put down up front. This let us go on to Milford sound for a cruise and then drop our key box off at the Caltex on the main road of Te Anau. Highly recommend this service, was so nice to have our rental car to explore the Fiordlands as we pleased without having to do any back tracking...
Read moreThis review is a little late (1.5 years later) but I just had to come back and give a 5 star review.
We were hiking the Routeburn track when our hike was cancelled on the second day due to snowy weather deeming the track unsafe. We were given the option to return back to the start of our hike or stay an extra night at the first hut and walk through 2 days worth of hiking. We decided to return to the start of the track. The hut warden spoke to Trackhopper and communicated this to them and they were able to stop our car transfer to the end of the hike. Due to the closure of the track and there being no need to transfer our car, they kindly offered us a partial refund.
Would recommend this service to anyone! a lovely bunch of people who truly care about...
