While most visitors flock to the famous Red Shed and the Glenorchy Wharf, a hidden gem awaits just behind the shed, right on the waterfront. A row of subtle willow trees, partially submerged in the shallow water, provides a tranquil scene that is just as iconic as the area's more popular landmarks.

This spot is a photographer's favorite. With the right conditions, the calm water creates perfect reflections of the willows and the surrounding mountains, creating an almost surreal and peaceful atmosphere. We went on a windy day, which made it hard to get that perfect reflection shot, so I'd recommend visiting at dawn or dusk for the best results.

Despite the wind, the picturesque views were still absolutely worth the hour-long drive from Queenstown. These willows are a truly special part of Glenorchy's landscape that you won't...
