Could people please also request to Akl Cncl that they allocate top of HUGE WATER TANK on N facing side half way up Mt Eden as OFF LEAD DOG AREA. It's lost it's former paths & chairs since larger viewing platforms installed closer to top. Those areas are fine for family safe areas & scenic viewers. But dogs & dog owners need their needs met too. And water tank is not a Mana Whenua sacred place bec tank already installed. The surface is unused while dogs have to stick on paths on lead. With growing population & huge dog ownership numbers Council needs separate classifications in a park as large as Mt Eden - rather than same On-Lead classification for entire mountain including barely used areas. They won't take any notice of a one-off request - but will have to if there are many.

(I drive to Mt Roskill from Ponsonby as often as possible. But its too far and Mt Eden is MUCH MUCH closer. Cncl is supposed to encourage/facilitate decreased dependency on cars, but decreasing dog off-lead areas dramatically defeats...
