Unfortunately like most swimming pools in the Wellington region now you need to call ahead and triple check that what they post on their Facebook page aligns with what they actually roll out on the day. We drove all the way up from the city so the kids could play on the inflatables in the time slot posted (Labour Day, Monday 23rd Oct. 1pm to 4.30pm). But of course we got there and there were no inflatables nor would there be. Just a painfully slow (the ride itself and the wait between turns) flying fox. That was after the kids are made to prove they can swim by doing a lap of the pool before they are allowed to even go on said flying fox. Oh and because my son changed his swimming style three quarters of the way into his lap he was made to do the whole lap again. Also, kids need to be at least 8 to ride the worlds slowest flying fox so if you have kids that are excellent swimmers and better than most adults you're out of luck if they aren't 8. I'm sure there's some science and common sense in there somewhere. Just not the part where inflatables were advertised but not put up I guess. I asked the lifeguards and they had no clue why with that 'please dont ask us questions' sort of response. Then they decided to ride the flying fox...
Read moreThank you so much for this lovely shower for this decent price... We decided to use the rest of our monnaie on you little stand for our breakfast to thanks you ! We are backpacker, we doing a lot of road to follow the seasons to pick the fruits of the country and this is not easy everyday, we felt like we are not treated correctly, because sometimes really hard to find decent toilet and shower... Something to know for local people, WE NEVER use our SC to poo inside with our toilet portable, all of them are still brand new and WE NEVER poo in the wild... this is a legend, we are civilised! The trip is really hard in NZ for that, the government try to do economie on this point... compared Australia, we have to find everytime decent toilet and shower on our way and all the backpacker we meet have the same stories for Nz! Anyway Thank you again because we felt traited correctly in this city, this is not the case everywhere where monaie and judgement are too present... Wish Frequency Love...
Read moreI've been twice and I honestly feel that it is not set out well. Loads of facilities for disabled folk which is a great plus.. BUT the ladies changing rooms make me feel as if I'm in noisy bazaar with parents letting their kids tell and scream without monitoring them. The floors are dirty and everyone stands on the benches to avoid the floor. The sauna is ok.. just wish people would talk so loudly in there.
There's no ventilation that I can see. The pool complex is covered and keeps the chlorine smell locked in. There is ok only 1 water fountain in the entire complex. No where near the sauna but all the way back by the changing rooms.
In comparison Taupo AC Baths...
