Muffin Break in Coastlands Shopping Town is a pleasant spot for a quick break. One of the standout highlights for me is their chai latte, easily one of the best I’ve ever tasted. It is absolutely delicious—rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor that kept me coming back for more. When it comes to food, I’d say it’s fairly average. To be honest, I’ve only had the chance to try their banana loaf, which was perfectly fine. There’s nothing wrong with it; it’s just a typical banana loaf that doesn’t stand out. It’s moist and sweet, as you’d expect, but there’s nothing about it that makes it extraordinary or unique. I’ve also taken a look at the other items on their menu, and, frankly, nothing really caught my attention. The selection seems standard, with options that cater to general tastes. The location is inside the mall, which naturally makes the atmosphere a bit noisy given the open layout and the bustling shoppers passing by. However, the mall itself has a welcoming vibe. It’s relatively small but cozy and offers a relaxing environment for those who want to enjoy a leisurely wander after grabbing a coffee. Despite the noise, the cafe serves as a convenient and enjoyable pit stop during a day out at Coastlands Shopping Town. If you're in the area, it’s definitely worth visiting for their exceptional chai latte!

Ordered a flat white and received this. Not even sure what it was if I'm perfectly honest with you. Enquired with staff if this is a flat white and they said yes and told them I wasn't happy but they said they couldn't do anything about it. It was luke warm if that, tasted bland, and if I'm honest looked like muddy water. Absolutely will not be returning. Staff were extremely rude! Wouldn't make eye contact while I was ordering and all the staff were unprofessional making inappropriate jokes to each other, it felt like I was in a high school class room but these ladies where adults. Typically I rate highly of Muffin Break, but this store is not it for me.

Divine smell as you approach. Initially thought the coffee price was a bit steep until I saw the size, definitely worth $5 for a medium flat white. Friendly staff and well made hot drinks

Had no pleasure to get Coffee from here again, the last experience was 1 year ago, so I knew the service is crap, BUT wife wanted a quick coffee for the drive back home. Again, a young staff member ignored me, just like last time, made no attempt to make eye contact, just went by making the coffee while I stood there like an idiot. A lady behind me saw the crap service so she ran off, probably to the next coffee place which was 2min in the Mall, Which I should have gone in the first Place. After maybe 3min, a senior staff came to serve me apologizing for the wait. She looked like the Owner, I'm guessing. Look, staff members should at least acknowledge customers if they are busy by at least saying be with you soon, but that young staff just ignored me..Lastly, the coffee came to me super Hot, hot to touch, had to quickly open the lid to cool off. With Inflation and numerous Coffee Shops closing down in Wellington, you should be worried, Coastlands Mall attendance has dropped also, I hope the owner reads this and try a bit harder, we need more people to head out to support the local Businesses, BUT how can we if you not showing up with...

I would actually give negative stars if I could. O.K, walked in just after lunch, no one in line, stood at counter about 1 min , literally, then a young lady came back into the store to work, saw me but didn't bother coming to the counter right away. Then another minute passes, she comes to serve me. Now, I've done customer service jobs and Operational jobs managing staff over 15 years, this is a moment where the staff is only there to collect the pay. I don't even remember a smile. She didn't even asked to scan my Coffee Club card, which is the reason I went there! then while i waited to pay , she asks a lady next to me rudely, do you want anything? Cmon man, theres a better way to ask a customer. Anyways, I Don't recommend this disaster of a shop, go down the mall to the choco place where they are friendly and give free chocos with your coffee. Lastly, the coffee was a latte, and it was too strong, barely come close to what a latte should be, and also my cup was fully wet on the outside when I grabbed it? jez man, make an effort, especially during these...
