I really wanted to give 5 but I could’ve easily given 4. Disclaimer: the food is absolutely brilliant and I really appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the good vibes come from the music that plays out onto the shop front. Why I almost rated 4: The charge. Combo #1 didn’t come with a drink. On the menu it says it does. This is fine as the lady who served me said they aren’t doing drinks for combo #1 (didn’t say why though, even despite it displaying as so on their menu). Why is this a problem? They charged me full price when it should have been slightly less (assuming the drink is usually provided). If the drink is not usually provided they need to display so on the menu - separating it so customers don’t get confused. If it remains as is I can see the potential for issues arising. Could be just my dumb processing ability of the menu but I’m fairly sure I interpreted correctly. All in all their food is delicious and quite literally the best tacos I’ve had in Auckland thus far. Good work guys.

Went in on opening day yesterday(29th June) and when I was in line before opening, people were coming down to support. I ordered 2 XL fish tacos because I've never tried a fish taco before and 3 Birria Tacos and man the flavor and the love was definitely there in the tacos. The Consomme was really good, the fish tacos were too good and putting the hot sauce on they give you (which I think is peri peri - could be wrong lol) gives that nice kick. But even without it it was just delicious and the birria tacos were really tasty. The support they showed the customers on day 1 was awesome. Great family oriented business and they are so kind. Great to see the first taco place in Avondale and will definitely be back to have more and can't wait for their items coming soon. Worth the money and I recommend it to anyone. Make sure to get in early to secure your spot or you'll probably be in a long line haha. Welcome to the mainstreet of Avondale - reposted

My husband wanted tacos and I wanted quesadillas one night and were on our way to taco bell. The hubby quickly remembered a small corner taco shop we had driven by one day in Avondale and decided to go try it. As I am severely allergic to tomatoes, I usually go into a taco shop and leave with a mid chicken and cheese quesadilla or something. Not this time. The boys whipped up some fish tacos, elote and a mangorita so I didn’t leave empty handed. We left and I decided to take a quick bite and it was life changing.. like eating cabin bread crackers with watermelon otai life changing. Over come with a mixture of wanting to punch myself for not trying these guys sooner and a feeling that I’ve just tasted unicorn tears out of the holy grail, I looked at my husband and quickly said “we need to go back!” This place is a must try for everyone and I recommend the whole menu, especially that iconic green sauce. 10/10, 5 stars and 100% fire.

I was driving past on my way home lastnight and saw a little bit of a crowd outside this place. Decided to stop and buy some of whatever they were selling and I’m sooo glad I did! The service was fantastic, they were super friendly. I also enjoyed the music while waiting outside. And the food and drink was absolutely delicious. I had the birria tacos with consume and hot salsa on the side. It comes with 2 tacos. The birria was soogood but I think if I had to be critical at all, I’d say it needed a bit more salt but I’m an extra salty kinda gal! I also had the Elote which is a cup of corn with elote sauce, I didn’t really like it but my daughter absolutely LOVED it and then my absolute favourite for the night was the virgin Mango-rita which was a mango flavoured margarita. This yummy sweet/salty rim with the icy drink was just so sooo good! I wanted to go and get another. Anyways, I’ll definitely be back again!

A new local favourite for us. We’re had the two most popular dishes-the fish and the barria tacos. They came laden with flavour, melted cheese and crisp fresh tacos, with added hot sauce (I like it, wife not so much) and a first for me-a beef consommé type soup for dipping the tacos into before eating. YUM! The guys behind the counter were the loveliest, friendliest people- Been the owner apparently spent 16 years in Phoenix including time learning from local Mexicans there how to make the real deal. I can’t tell you if that’s true but I can tell you the tacos are excellent to eat! The only quibble I have is that they need a bench seat inside so you can sit while you wait for your order (they weren’t overly busy when we went so the tacos took seconds to materialise), but there is a seat outside around the corner and we sat there in the shade of the tree enjoying our lunch. We’ll definitely be back!

We have been forever talking about trying this out before the AD store opened. Managed to finally pop in was not too packed as we came in around 630pm. Due to popular demand they only had the fish tacos left. I hesitated as I have never had fish in a taco but we thought na let's give it a go. Best decision made ever. Waited to get home to try these babies out and man they were divine. Full of flavour too my taste buds had a party. The sauce used in the taco is next level. Best sauce on fish I have had. No fault and no complaints from me. The only complaint I have is I should of got another 3 for myself. Good friendly customer service. Served right away, place is nice and clean too. Will come back and try out the other tacos next time this one has set the bar for me very high thank you guys.
