On the evening of February 14, 2025, the Bal Veglione at the Nice Carnival took place at the Nice Opera House with grandeur. As the melodious tunes of the waltz orchestra played, over a hundred pairs of dancers gracefully moved on the dance floor, each showcasing their stunning elegance. Female dancers wore magnificent long dresses and intricate masks, exuding an aura of nobility and mystery. Male dancers donned neat suits with masks of varying styles, either imposing or playful, adding infinite charm. The entire ball was lively and vibrant, with dazzling lights and continuous laughter, immersing all participants in a feast of visual and auditory delight, making it the most brilliant moment of the Nice Carnival.

I’ve been to many opera theatres around the world, but this was my the worst experience. I was trying to buy the ticket online and to get the good seat many times, but the website failed. At least, later, I got one of the last seats somewhere “in the middle of nowhere”. Sure, I understand that this was the cheap seat and I should have been ready not to have the beautiful view. But I wasn’t ready to have something like THIS… No fixed seat, you just take the seat which is free for now, with a terrible view, or, better to say, without any view of the stage. Or, as the lady said, you can just keep standing. Thank you very much but I left.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful production of Lucia di Lammermoor at the Nice Opera House last week. The sets were impressive, and the acting and the singing truly excellent, exceeding our expectations. Thank you very much to the cast and crew of this brilliant production.

So you might wonder why the 2-star “less than average” review then? Unfortunately, the attitude and behaviour of the staff at Opéra de Nice left a really bad taste; and detracted from the experience - which would...

We went to buy our tickets today with such excitement to see the ballet tomorrow! Sadly the welcome by the cashier staff was probably the worst kind of rudeness I have experienced in all of the theatre's I have visited across the world. We were ignored at the first instance ! the cashier refused to respond or speak English with myself which I find surprising in such a multicultural city.My partner requested tickets for the performance then in French with the most clipped arrogant response....

The opera house is stunning! However! I attended Lakme a few months ago and Madam Butterfly last night. The only tickets left were 12 euro tickets, restricted view. There was no restricted view, there was no view. You could not see the stage. When we went to find our seats, one usher was running up and down the corridor trying to help people to their seats. It was the same when I went to Lakme. When we eventually got seated there was all sorts of seat hopping and confusion in front of...
