I got a few things from this place - Escargots (snails), Grenouilles (Frog Legs), and a Charcuterie Board, which we shared
Up first, we had the snails & frog legs. I have to say this was some of the best food I've had in France Starting with the snails - they're a little hard to figure out how to open at first, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes really easy. Once you get the whole thing out, they have a really great taste to them. It's hard to describe their taste but I would say a little bit fish-like, but not overpowering To add to the taste - these were infused with garlic butter, which made them addictingly good. The inside felt really plump, and satisfying to eat
Next, we have the frog legs. These were unbelievably good - I was not expecting them to taste like that. Like the snails, they were covered in a sort of garlic oil, which obviously enhanced the flavor. It's not just that, though. They were seasoned exceptionally, had amazing browning in certain parts, and the texture was quite literally perfect. The inside was even better, though, it was unbelievably juicy, tender, and had a one-of-a-kind mouth-feel that I haven't gotten from a lot of other meats. It was the perfect balance of muscle and fat, combining to create something exceptional. The meatiness was not lacking here - each leg had a well-above average amount of meat to it
Lastly, we had the charcuterie board. this I was slightly disappointed by. The cheeses were pretty good, as you'd expect, but the meats were lacking. They tasted a little old, and none of them were above the quality you would get buying them from a supermarket. There was also just a general lack of meat on the board
For the price, sharing all three of these resulted in around 25 euros per person, which is honestly very reasonable. I think this is excellent value
Overall, if I was just coming back for the snails & frog legs, this would easily get above a 9/10, but the charcuterie board drags this down...

Le Frog is nothing short of extraordinary. From the very first bite, every dish I tasted was an explosion of flavor in my mouth—refined, balanced, and simply unforgettable. I first discovered this gem through their lunch menu, where I had a beautifully cooked fish dish 🐟 made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. It was so impressive that I couldn’t resist coming back for dinner—and I’m so glad I did.
In the evening, I tried the escargot 🐌—something I was always skeptical about. But given the exceptional cuisine at Le Frog, I decided to trust the chef and give it a try. And wow… I adored them from the very first one! Tender, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. Then came the grilled octopus 🐙, and it was nothing short of sensational—cooked to perfection with incredible ingredients that brought every bite to life.
To top it all off, the wine 🍷 was absolutely divine—carefully selected and perfectly paired to complement the rich, flavorful dishes. It elevated the entire dining experience and made each course feel complete.
Le Frog has become my absolute favorite place to eat in Nice. If I had known about it earlier, I would have eaten here every single day. The food is just super delicious—a true celebration of traditional French flavors with a modern, elevated touch. Sophisticated, flavorful, and unforgettable.
The staff is incredibly kind, caring and friendly. The waiter remembered me from lunch to dinner! I really appreciated it! 😊
🌟 Highly recommended to anyone visiting Nice. This is not just a restaurant—it’s a culinary experience you...
Read moreI was very much looking forward to dining at your restaurant, but unfortunately, it was a huge letdown.
We ordered the iconic frog legs, escargot, prawn carpaccio, lobster risotto, confit beef, and octopus. Sadly, every dish fell well below expectations: Frog legs: Very greasy, with batter falling apart. The meat was chewy and overcooked. Escargot: Average, lacked the rich sauce I expected. Prawn carpaccio: Prawns were very thin and lacked flavor. Confit beef: The only solid dish of the night—7/10. The potato mash was well-executed and buttery. Lobster risotto: Extremely disappointing. The risotto was black rice, hard, and didn’t absorb the sauce. There was barely any lobster meat, and the lobster itself appeared undercooked—raw and watery. Although the waiter claimed this is how French chefs serve lobster “70% done,” it raised serious food safety concerns. When we requested it fully cooked, it returned lukewarm, with no significant improvement.
Service was equally poor. We waited 10 minutes just to get the waiter’s attention, it was like they just intentionally look sideways when they walked out from the kitchen and avoid any eye contact with us, and when we expressed our dissatisfaction, the staff became defensive, making remarks about “rock lobster” and our understanding of French Riviera cuisine. While they waived the charge for the lobster risotto, this hardly made up for the overall experience.
I rarely complain, but given the high prices, I had higher expectations. Unfortunately, this was the worst restaurant experience I’ve had on my trip to France.
I strongly advise others to avoid...
