Although smaller than the more famous Santa Catalina across the river, it is well worth crossing the river and seeking out this tranquil convent. As fewer people make the effort to come here, it is much quieter and easier to enjoy the peace and beauty of this place, which has much to enjoy. The real highlight is the magnificent library, but its trio of attractive cloisters are superb. Views from the viewpoint in the bell tower are excellent, although for the nervous or those who have issues with steps, the (metal) spiral staircase doesn’t feel entirely secure, and the wooden viewing platform feels even less so.
