Mixed Experience: Great Food, Lacking Service

I just had breakfast here with my partner, and while the food was excellent, the service left a lot to be desired.

I ordered the French toast with a side of sausage, and my partner had the pancakes. The portions were generous, and the flavors were absolutely delicious—a wonderful breakfast overall.

However, the service was disappointing. A young lady brought us the coffee and orange juice we ordered, and when I asked for the WiFi password, she curtly told us to go downstairs and scan the code. This response surprised me, as I’ve never been in a situation where we were instructed to retrieve it ourselves. In my experience, waitstaff typically provide the information directly.

We also noticed other groups arriving for breakfast, and several tables were left unattended for over 10 minutes with no one serving them.

It’s unfortunate because the food truly stands out, but some of the staff could benefit from additional training in customer service to improve the overall experience.

Thank you for your reply. I understand there was a misunderstanding about your QR code process for ordering. Unfortunately, this wasn’t explained to me at the time, which led to my perception that customers were being unattended for over 10 minutes. I apologize if this caused any confusion.

However, your comment about requesting a printed menu being “unusual” was unnecessary and rude. Printed menus are a standard expectation for many customers, and while digital menus are becoming more common, they are still not universal.

Not sure how this place has such high ratings. Firstly, the ordering is done via WhatsApp which feels a bit robotic, but fine. I texted my order of the avocado toast with scrambled eggs. They delivered me a fried egg 🤦‍♂️ I wrote the order clearly and in Spanish so not sure how they misunderstood. They then took my food back and changed it for scrambled egg, by which point my food was nice and cold ☹️ Overall, the atomosphere and location are decent, but I'm not sure how the food is rated so highly. Even ignoring the fact it was cold after their mistake, I've had far better avocado toast and scrambled egg elsewhere in Perú, as well as in the UK. I feel a mug paying almost 20 soles for this. Fruit bowls: Generous amount of fresh fruits, well combined with caramelized cereals and sezam seets on the yogurt was a really nice and light breakfast. We enjoyed it very much. To my taste there could be one more leyer of chia pudding in the yogurt, to make it richer in taste and nutrients.

Waffle: Crispy, fresh waffleswith lots of caramel and yummy ice cream were truly delicious. However, it is a bit heavy meal and sugar overdosed. As we as a couple shared waffle and pancakes - we were glad to lighten this dish with fruits.

Pancakes: Fluffy pancakes with fresh fruits and as much maple syrup as you wish were very tasty.
