Was fine. Checked the box for going to the beach in Lima. Beach had sand, which was good because beaches just up the road were only rocks. It also has umbrellas and chairs to rent, which is also nice since other beaches didn’t look to have that available. We got one umbrella and four chairs for 30 soles, probably could have negotiated lower sine the beach wasn’t busy at 10am. It was fairly clean, only a little bit of junk that washed ashore or was left behind. There were “drifter” people packing up their camp and washing themselves in the water when we arrived. They didn’t make a show of it so it wasn’t a huge deal. There were portable toilets that were locked, we didn’t use them but I’m assuming we would have had to pay someone to open it for us. All in all, it was just fine. Definitely been to better beaches in the world but deemed good for Lima.

I believe it is the only public sandy beach in Miraflores/Barranco, and it is sheltered with not much wave action. It gets 2 stars as you really don't have any other option and for its winter time relatively low amount of people, but come summer time it gets absolutely packed and pretty dirty as a result. Much nicer beaches are available to the south, but they simply aren't as convenient to get to.

Gets very busy around 1pm. I'd recommend finding the green chairs with gold umbrellas and asking for Luiz/Luis. He takes great pride in his area, cleans and rakes the sand. 2 chairs and an umbrella are 20 sol for the day. Water is 2 sol for a bottle. We didn't eat the beach food but brought our own. The beach clears out at sunset. The water is nice but fairly dirty, watch for the odd jelly fish. If you forget sunscreen they sell it amongst many...
