La Quinta Libertad — Hotel in Lima Metropolitan Area

This is more of an Airbnb than a Hostel. It is a house with about 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and a very simple kitchen that guests can use.

Carlos is very nice and available all the time and if not you can contact him through WhatsApp.

Location is good in Barranco. Walking to Miraflores might take around 1h, which is easy and nice to do if you enjoy walking.

Common area: I chose this hostel because reviews made it sound like a social and friendly place but there is not really a comfortable area to hang out. The living room is small not very inviting to sit or use.

Cleaning: the bathrooms weren't clean. There were hairs and dust balls on the floor since we arrived, until we left 4 days later.

Noise: the walls are very thin and our bedroom's door had a space above the door so we could hear everything. We woke up when others opened their doors or went to the bathroom. We could also hear pigeons walking around on the roof above us

For the price, this can be okay to crash on Barranco for a night or two, knowing that you are a not going to find a very clean bathroom or a hostel with social space to meet people...

The private room was pretty nice, with a comfortable bed, enough storage space and a tv (if you want to use that during your holiday). The owners were really nice and the breakfast was amazing! They prepare a small buffet with plenty of choice and you can have as much as you like. ||||The bathroom was pretty much okay, but is shared with an entire floor. Because the other rooms were booked aswel, there were several moments when I wanted to use the bathroom while it was occupied. The living room on the ground floor is used as the entrance and breakfast space, which also means that whenever you come in or go out, you pass by the family. Sometimes I felt a bit awkward 'invading' the family life. Location is not bad and was picked for the reasons of safety, as Barranco was said to be the safest place in Lima. It is 5-10 minutes of walk from the center of the district with cafes, restaurants, supermarket, stores and recreational area leading to the shore of the Pacific. All rooms are different. Mine happened to be the US$17 one, located on the second floor, very small, not more than 4-5 sq m, with a bed and a drawer. Small window above the bed. No hangers, not a single hook on the wall. The pilow was very old, all crumpled and damp. The sheets smelled bad and did not look washed or fresh not mentioning ironed. There's no sound isolation, so when somebody was using bathroom next to my room I could here the whole process in details. The bathroom is shared by a few rooms on the floor. Hot water wasn't always hot, but somewhat warm was enough. The rooms and the bathroom were never cleaned within 3 days that I stayed. We had breakfast included, it was very poor: just buns with the small piece of butter and jam, tea or coffee, the second day we had an extra thin slice of a chicken sausage. Wifi worked fine. Carlos, the owner, was nice. Unfortunately that wasn't enough to make my stay comfortable, I wouldn't come back here. Мне досталась малюсенькая комната за 17 долларов на 3 этаже. На площади не более 4-5 кв м располагались кровать и комод. Ни вешалки, ни крючка, ничего более. Маленькое окошко над кроватью. Старая подушка, вся в комочках и отсыревшая. Постельное белье не свежее. Полное отсутствие звукоизоляции. Когда кто-то пользовался санузлом, расположенным за стеной, в моей комнате был слышен весь процесс в малейших подробностях. Санузел общий на этаже. За 3 дня пребывания ни в комнате, ни в санузле уборки не было. Включенный в стоимость проживания завтрак состоял из булочки с кусочком масла и джема и чаем или кофе. Один раз был еще прозрачный ломтик вареной колбасы. wifi работал нормально. Карлос, хозяин, был улыбчив и гостеприимен, но этого, к сожалению, недостаточно, чтобы назвать мое пребывание здесь комфортным. Я ни за что не вернусь сюда.
