I recently stayed at Nomad Barranco by Wyndwood, and while the location and vibe had potential, there were a few areas that could use some improvement to make the experience more seamless and enjoyable.
The Good: The property is situated in a fantastic area of Barranco, surrounded by art, culture, and great dining options. It’s a lively neighborhood that’s perfect for exploring. The place has a unique, bohemian charm, and the resident cat is a sweet touch for animal lovers. If you’re lucky, they might even stop by for a visit (though be prepared for them to overstay their welcome if your door is open!).
Areas for Improvement: Check-In Process: The welcome felt a bit rough, and the check-in process was cumbersome. There’s a lot of redundant information to fill out between the Wyndwood enrollment and the booking platform (e.g., Booking.com, Orbitz, etc.). Streamlining this would make a big difference. Accessibility: There’s no ramp for luggage, which can be a hassle if you’re carrying heavy bags. This is something that could easily be addressed to improve guest comfort. Noise Levels: The walls are quite thin, so you’ll hear everything – from conversations to other noises. If you’re looking for a quiet stay, this might not be the best fit. On the flip side, if you enjoy a lively atmosphere, you might feel right at home. Internet Reliability: For business travelers, the Wi-Fi is a major pain point. I wasn’t able to connect for over two days, which made working remotely nearly impossible. Reliable internet is a must for a property like this. Transportation Access: While the location is great, it’s hard for rideshares like Uber to find the property. You’ll need to walk to the main avenue to be picked up, which can be inconvenient, especially with luggage.
Final Thoughts: Nomad Barranco has a lot of potential, but it needs a bit of TLC to elevate the guest experience. With some attention to the check-in process, noise insulation, Wi-Fi reliability, and accessibility, it could be a much stronger offering. That said, the location and charm of the area make it worth considering if you’re in Barranco – just plan accordingly based...
Read moreStudio apartment was well furnished and was stocked well. Location was also really good - down a quiet street near the main areas of Barranco. Walking distance to Merito and other great restaurants. I was able to run to and down the Malecon easily. Also many great cafes in the area. I felt very safe at all times in the neighborhood. |Service was just ok. Took a long time to check in even though it says self check in. They had to call someone to go through the process with me. I believe this is also a residential building. Additionally they are not great at responding to messages once checked in. There was a router in the room with a specific wifi network. No password was provided and messages asking for password was never answered. I had no problems with airport pick up that i scheduled with them, but had to remind them that i also scheduled a return ride a couple hours before pick up. I don't doubt i wouldn't haven't gotten a ride if i didn't do so. They didn't confirm until i was already in the car as i contacted the ride company directly. Skip their service. Just get an uber. The place was nice and location was great so it served its purpose, but service has a lot...
