Maritima ruins is the perfect picture of neglect. It looks good in photos; built in 1910 known to be the Fernandez Building and shows the influence of the American architecture in the history of Cebu. It was occupied by Shamrock Hotel and also became the main office of Compania Maritima - one of the biggest maritime company before it went bankrupt in the late 1980s.

Now, just outside the ruins is now a parking area for vehicle owners who have transactions in Cebu City Hall, nearby supermarkets, pier, and Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño.

We hope that the city government would preserve this structure as one of its heritage sites.
