I am submitting this post to express my experiences with Mimosa’s management. I have been a member of Mimosa golf course for the last seven months. I have played the courses around eighty times.
When playing at a golf course our interactions are with the staff. On occasions we will see someone talking to one or more of the staff in sure a way as to indicate they are management. The exception is at Mimosa golf course where management is fully engaged with not only staff but players too. In my opinion they set the example/ standard for golf courses internationally. Let me share my experiences with management.
Here are just a few of the managers who have interacted with me. They expressed a caring attitude for not only the players but their subordinates too.
Pro Shop supervisor Ems, most days I find Ems behind the counter not only greeting players but working with his stuff to expedite processing of passes. Players including myself really appreciate his dedication so we can eagerly get on the course.
Caddie Master Jay, I believe Jay has the most subordinates to mentor/ supervise. Mimosa has a caddie staff of around 200 reporting to work daily, with a total of over 500. With 200 caddies moving around the golf courses at any one time it is a big challange to take on. Yet, I ran into him everywhere ensuring the caddies are providing exellent services to the players. If players are not busy, Jay stops to introduce himself and ensure the caddie is providing top service.
Head Marshal Robert, Robert seems to really enjoy multitasking. You will find him in the starting/ finishing area during the busiest times coordinating the flow of golf carts, players and caddies beginning or finishing a round. Slower times Robert is out and about the golf courses monitoring his marshals and his top priority of safety for all.
Golf Operations Manager Edwin, I see him just about everywhere watching and engaging with players to ensure maximum game enjoyment. The other day at the bag drop off I was looking for a caddie. I ran into Edwin who picked up my club’s bag and carried it to my cart. He has the same caring attitude anytime/ anywhere you encounter him.
Director of Golf Rory, On New Year’s Day I encountered Rory riding the courses on a cart greeting me and other players with a smile and pleasant greeting.
As you can see from my observation of Mimosa management not only how caring they are about Mimosa and their responsibilities, but how awesome they influence their subordinates to take the same pride in their...

Organized, wrote letter, booked, reserved, confirmed, re-confirmed my tournament 18 holes, caddie, cart, consumable... 19 players who flew to the Philippines.. 8 different countries from all corners of the earth.
Upon arrival the bag drop was frantic as usual. The check in counter was packed and pure confusion. Why couldn't they put a sign up of the process then follow it. Why is the caddy fee paid separately and only in cash?
Then.... Sorry sir.... No More Carts....!? But I booked and confirmed.... sorry sir....
Go out to my bag, more high tension drama as the Starter rounds up carts, it's frantic, my players are patient.
One group still missing 2 carts. We tee off with a promise 'coming soon sir, many players finishing now we will send the cart'
10 phone calls, 5 promises and..... 11 holes later.... , 2 carts are delivered.
Cart delivery guy gets in noisy discussion with my Caddie about something... While I'm preparing for my shot. I have to tell him to stop so I can play. The lady in the cart laughed!? I very politely said it was not a joking matter.
Club then forced players to pay for cart for 9 holes, after only getting it for 7. Crazy bad, should have been free after all the blatant lies and drama. Then I find out the 20 year old pull cart is p150! , after paying 3600+ for green fee. Who gets that? Corruption.
Multiple caddies in our group say you must tip the cart guy if you want a cart. CORRUPTION!
Caddie is 625,with 500 going to the caddie, who gets the 125? CORRUPTION!
One player got a caddie with honest, three, only 3, days of caddie experience. She spoke English but literally didn't know what day of the week it was.
The Mountain course is a beautiful layout. The tee boxes and greens mostly in excellent condition but multiple perfect drives right down the middle gave a thin lie on dirt, see #4 secind and 5. All over the back in the fairway. It's like concrete. No grass. Multiple greens, thick covering of leaves were not removed on the green.
P3600 green fee with hundreds of rounds being played everyday. Where does the money go?
Mimosa had always been known for hijinks and grey areas. I thought the new owners might turn things around.
Apparently not.

Read moreNo locker rooms, restaurant is bare of furniture and drinks are over-priced. For a place that is unfinished, they charge double what other golf courses charge and every player is charged P300 for consumables. (A bottle of Gatorade is P170 and Cola is P138 - go figure.)
Golf course staff seem to make up rules as they go along. For example, a player is a "Guest" because there are no members. "Gallery" defines someone who goes to the golf course but does not play. But if you argue about the rules of golf, "Gallery" becomes "Guest" because you were giving instructions on the golf course and you have to pay the green fee.
Nobody has a clue about golf rules or local course rules and it is not defined anywhere on the course, in the clubhouse or in the high-tech electronic scorecards in the golf buggies.
The General Manager plays alone and takes the course Marshall to tell all the players ahead to stop and make way as he plays through all the flights. If asked why, the Marshall will say that everyone else is playing too slowly.
The course Marshall will report of slow play without even coming up to talk to the caddy or any member of the flight about their pace of play. He cannot even say what the pace of play is but he will report of slow play regardless of inclement weather.
The Dress Code is not defined anywhere - it just depends on what the staff will say. And you are told about this when you are out in the course, having already paid all the necessary fees. No refund.
Workers don't even know whether it is owned by Filinvest or Ayala Corp.
Don't even get me started on the course conditions! Fairways cut so short that there's hardly any grass, you'd be happy to be in the rough. Bunkers are either rock hard, fluffy, or overgrown with weeds.. challenging, yes, but for all the wrong reasons.
Badly trained caddies who think making loud noises is a good way to get a big tip. Snide comments about a bad shot as if to say they can do better than the player.
Over all, a very unpleasant experience for an experienced player. Highly...
