Take the VIP gondola when you can!
When you're not dining, shopping or watching a movie at MOA, you can always try the rides at SM by the bay. As a boring and non-thrill seeking person, the only ride I agreed to take was the ferris wheel or MOA eye. We made our way to MOA eye going through the southern end of the mall, near the department store. If you follow the directional guides to S Maison, you should be able to get to the wheel faster as it is situated close to Conrad.
Ticket prices are usually 150 Pesos but they have a VIP gondola at 200 each. I was feeling extra that day so I decided to get the VIP gondola. I didn't know what made the VIP gondolas special so the kind lady at the booth told me it had glass at the bottom. The wheel didn't look that tall so I didn't mind.
Getting into the gondolas was, tricky. It didnt really stop for you to get on it so you have to catch it the moment its close on the platform. You have to be quick with it. You can see that the wheel is not new. It is an old wheel and even has separate AC units for each gondola. The glass are smudged scratched and wasn't as clear. I know that this wheel was not brand new when it opened to public so I expected those. While we were starting at the low levels I looked at the glass bottom and realized Im scared of heights. I Sstarted getting stressed wach time I got a glimpse pf the bottom when we were starting to get higher as you get unobstructed view below but as we got near to the top and started seeing parts of the wheel I felt some relief and got to appreciate the expansive views around the bay area and some of the towering skyscrapers of the Makati CBD and Manila CBD.
The ride was quick and riding the VIP gondola made it even quicker for me with the good amount of stress it brought to me so if you get the chance, get the VIP gondola. Its always fun having someone panic while riding a ferris wheel even if its perfectly safe and...
